Way back in 2006 when Hoverboards were a pipe dream, and a Wii Fit was a Scotsman foaming at the mouth, a group of lads got together after realising that banging on Biscuit Tins wi Wooden Spoons was Music & alas, The Lancashire Hotpots were born.

Fast forward 8 years later, after several greasy Friday night Dinners, hazy memories brought on by the Devil's Drink Beer (and lots of Hangover Breaths) & here we have Golden Crates! A Greatest Hits CD (yeah, people still use CDs! People over the age of 30 though) & we have 20 of the classics including "That one about a Chippy Tea", "I'm proper scared of IKEA me" & "Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope cos me mates turned into an Emo" plus 5 new tracks (yep they spoil you don't they?) such as "The Resignation Song" & "It's in Foreign" (about when your Dog jumps up at you and accidentally presses enter on the Remote when the Menu Language says "Swahili".

You also get a Live CD too! (It's not even Chrimbo & they're giving you more!) which features all the greatest hits from the Live at the Lowry DVD, available from all Car Boots & their official Website.

Overall, it's a fantastic album, with remastered tracks (ie Dickie's Triangle on a loop) & the new tracks are hilarious, relatable & both the old & new sound as fresh as a Couch that has just been Febreezed smells, and the Live CD also adds to the great value.

You know when you're drunkenly swaying at 3 in the morning trying to find your house & the neighbours are annoyed you're singing loudly & badly? Well buy this, learn the lyrics, and drunkenly sing these. They'll soon let you off.

Being born into a middle class family from the working class town of St.Helens, in Lancashire, who gave you such great things as Pilkingtons glass, St.Helens RLFC and, not forgetting, George Wright brewery, pop songs of the new era never connected with me. For example, I don't go out partying till 3:00 in the morning whilst litening to beeps and boops, and I am certainly not sexy and I do know it.
So if you want a break from all the techno rubbish of this "golden age" of modern music, buy this album. It connects with me on a human level and stopped me going down a bad road, drinking over priced energy drinks, with only a smidge of alcohol in it. So while all my mates are out on town, paying 19.99 for a drink, I am in the local, having a few pints of good old real ale.
So to conclude, you could buy other albums, like Toto's greatest hits and listen to them sing about yet another girl, or the new Taylor Swift album and hear how yet another boy has broken up with her. But you could buy this album and learn some dating tips and find out the true way to a girls heart (a shopmobility scooter and innuendos).
Oh and did I mention it has a live album?...yes it has a live album, where you will listen to the band playing live songs live. LIVE!

From starter to main course followed by a lucious desert. The Hotpots give their all for your satisfaction, delictation and delight. Original song writing that entertains from getting lost in Ikea to the Iconic Chippy Tea. How can a Fryday come by without that icon? One wonders if Bernard Thresher is the Maestro's real name or if he is trying to compete with the competition and the mistress of the local Bargain Booze store? Shopmobility scooter is hilariously excellent fun and I wonder if the Baking Song was Mary Berry's inspiration to bake? Whilst doing my research for this album I got slightly confused. I clicked on a link that clearly said Northwest Golden Crates. Thinking this was for this album I was stunned to find it was for the Golden Crates Funeral Home in the Northwest -- Ohio! Note to self "Must make an appointment with optician. Hopefully these bunch of imncumbents will keep us away from the final destination for many a year to come!

Absolutely amazing! I discovered this band back in 2007 when I was doing my gcse's at school. And back then I could relate to "he's turned emo" by looking at some of the other kids. They was a breath of fresh air after over playing five penny piece, although of a similar variety. I've listened to the lancashire hotpots almost every day since then. From listening to them on repeat on MySpace to the crust for life album (outstanding album too) and the Golden Crates album just brought back so many memories for me down the years. So many great songs and so many potential number 1's on this album. Thank you Dickie, Bob, Kenny, Billy, Pirate Bernard, Bernard and Little Johnny Green for making my life complete!

If you want an album full of infectious licks and hooks to hang your coat on, an album that mixes punk rock with beach boy harmonies then this cd is probably not for you. However if you want an album full of singalongs, great northern humour and tunes you'll be humming all day then look no further. The hotpots have cornered the folk/comedy market this is the ultimate party album mixing catchy tunes and choruses you'll be singing all day ....and night. If you only buy one album this year then make it golden crates you won't be disappointed and if surprisingly you are the lads will refund double your outlay (possibly) so do yourselves a favour and buy this todaaaaaaay!
