Bagpuss is wonderfully squishy, but the best thing about him is that he looks as if he was made to be dragged along the floor, grubbied up by eager little hands and then cuddled close. And what's more, when you squeeze him under his chin he makes a very loud yawning sound that will tickle tots to bits (even if only because it sounds like a long, drawn out burp!).
