I bought this lead so I could sit on one side of the living room with my laptop, with the output going to my 32" LG LCD TV on the other side of the room.
I have got a 2m long HDMI lead from another supplier that works fine, but it was just not long enough.
When I plugged in this lead, at first the laptop image appeared on the TV, then flicked on and off repeatedly before finally cutting out altogether. I tried playing with settings and found it would work OK on all but the highest possible screen resolution. However, the 2m lead worked fine on all resolutions including the highest.
What I DONT know of course is if the problem is with the lead, the TV input or the Laptop output. Longer leads presumably suffer signal loss, and it's possible the laptop's signal strength is not adequate to push the full resolution down 4m of cable. This lead works fine at other resolutions with perfect sound and vision.
So it's a bit difficult to judge how to rate this lead. The gadget show recently said there was no difference between an expensive HDMI lead and a cheap one. Maybe there is on longer lengths? If 1280 x 720 is OK for you, well that worked on this lead for me, but above that (1366 x 768 in my case) was a no go.
