I expected the usual sticky gook in a tin, but this is odour free and a pleasure to use. I semi melt it on our oven top and it spreads well and soaks in over a day or so, without making everything sticky. Good stuff!

This tub has enough dubbin to last a lifetime! It arrived in good time. I applied it copiously to our hiking boots and they just sucked it up, so I applied a second layer a week later. Excellent product! I can definitely recommend it to anybody who cares about their leather goods.

What can I say, it's waxy. I've put on two liberal coatings in one sitting. I guess if I could locate a hairdryer I could spend a while letting it seep in but it's not necessary. This is new leather and it makes it look a million dollars. Those puddles will be running away from you!

This is an old fashioned dubbin protection for leather boots, tack and other items packaged in a modern rather ugly plastic tub. Remember, of course, that is for leather boots and not for the more modern footwear made with Gortex or other man made fibres.

My walking boots were letting in water and looking somewhat the worse for wear so I thought I'd give this stuff a try in an attempt to revive them. I wanted to try a more traditional approach and good old dubbin seemed to be the answer.

It is easy to apply, use it just as you would boot polish, rubbing it into the seams and joints and then buffing up with a cloth afterwards. It makes it easier to apply if the tub is warmed slightly first. It has to be said that things can get a bit messy, or it is when I do it, so protective cloths may be needed and watch out not to wax the carpet.

Once it is applied and buffed up it does a good job of keeping the water and other elements out and lasts for a reasonable length of time between applications. For best results and to keep the boots in good shape it needs applying every few days or so as over time the dubbin will dry out and lose effectiveness.

If you want the old fashioned approach to keeping traditional style leather boots in good order then this is the stuff for you.
