I thought this was a good read. The main character is forced to think about her first lesbian love experience. She returns to her hometown and inevitably runs in to her first. Good job describing the emotional realm. Not really a 'steamy' novel.

Gold fever is the story about Kate and her first love Ashley.
When kate was ten and after her parents died she went to live with her aunt. Apon finding a tree house sitting between the two houses Kate reclusively spends her time there. Until she meets the next door neighbours daughter Ashley. The two girls become inseprable and over the years they fall in love. Keeping their relationship secret because they know not everyone would understand, which Ashley worries about, so she pretends to go out with another boy. Which alienates Kate. Although every seemed alright as they fell back into their love Ashley mother caught them in bed together. One thing leads to another and within weeks Kate heart is stattered by Ashley marry a man and falling pregnant.
Ten years after returning home Kate finds a well known author is coming to her libary. And Ashley has come home with her daughter to try and win Kates love again and explain why she did what she did. And against Kates better judgement she feels her heart opening up to Ashley once more.
