Valkyrie Cain and Skulduggery Pleasant attempt to rescue three kidnapped babies from the hands of evil, smelly, hairy, and double-crossing goblins - only to find out that they have a big sister who at about 10 feet tall, really is a VERY big sister!

This is a cracking 15 minute read that introduces you to Skulduggery Pleasant, the Skeleton detective and his assistant Valkyrie Cain who can conjure elemental flames out of the air.

Perfectly presented on the Kindle with no formatting or any other issues, and even a few little pictures thrown in for good measure.

Overall: 5 stars - A great little amusing tale for more advanced young readers aged around 10 and up that will leave you wanting to read more in this series!

This was worth a free download and read.

It is quite witty children's/ young adult short story.

It did make me smile a few times and for quick short story it is well written.
The action scenes were well done.

My 10 year old son thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, he said it was brilliant but not long enough for him. He took just half an hour to finish it although he is a very fast reader.
