Bing Crosby double-bill. In 'Going My Way' (1944), the arrival of easy-going young priest Father Chuck O'Malley (Crosby) at debt-ridden St Dominic's Church does not sit easily with ageing Father Fitzgibbon (Barry Fitzgerald), who has been in charge for 45 years. However, O'Malley is soon reaching out to the local, disenfranchised youth and swelling the parishioners' ranks through the medium of song. In the sequel 'The Bells of St Mary's' (1945), Father O'Malley (Bing Crosby) becomes involved in running St Mary's, a school for disadvantaged children. He and its conservative Mother Superior (Ingrid Bergman) clash over how things should be done, but are quick to join forces when the school is threatened by a rich man's plans to build a new office block.

This collection is a MUST for Bing Crosby fans and for anyone who wants a magical trip down memory lane. It is what it is and that, for me, is the cosy thing about this lovely box set. I think it's rather nice to take a trip back in time to when Bing crooned so beautifully...ahh..they just don't make 'em like this anymore!!

This is one of my wife's favourite old movies, (the bells of st mary's) and as a bonus it comes with a second bill (going my way) I am not familiar with the second film, however the first title has a good story behind it, and some very memorable songs by Bing. A good film for the season. Very good value for money.

I bought these for my wife as she loves these films. They are in black and white with mono sound, decent quality, though.

Delighted with this DVD. I have attempted to buy one locally without success. It takes me back to my childhood, I remember watching the films on the TV.

As a child of the 70's, I remember quite fondly seeing the Bing Crosby movies on TV during the holidays. I'm happy to have these films in our collection

Didn't quite meet my expectation having watched this film many years ago on televise with my Father (who was a great Bing fan). As one might expect this is a rather dated film now. Nevertheless it has that heart-warming quality to it with the good that Bing (as a priest) brings to the story. It's hard to think of any other actor who could bring such warmth to the main character.
