5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Movie 24 Mar 2010
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This movie thoughtfully and carefully portrays the delicate but critically important subject of spousal abuse, and to a much lesser degree, child abuse. This issue cuts across all socioeconomic and cultural lines, and is one deserving of great consideration and discussion. Further, the movie makes shows that, until very recently, the abused spouse was also abused by the American legal system, making unavailable simple tools that would permit spousal abuse to be considered in child custody cases.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST Watch! 7 Jan 2013
By Candy - Published on Amazon.com

If you don't understand how a woman can stay with an abusive husband you must watch this movie!
If you want to protect your daughters have them watch this with you!
This movie is based on a true story and very well depicted by wonderfully talented actors Joanna Kerns and Tim Matheson.
We may suspect what goes on in our neighbors lives, but how often do we offer help?
Admittedly is is not always safe to get DIRECTLY involved, but there are always ways to help.
Start by becoming informed by watching movies like this one, and knowing that Nobody wants to live like this!
If you are an abused spouse this movie may help you get out of your situation. You CAN do it and there are people to help!

This was an exciting movie. Joanna kerns is a very good actress, I also enjoy Tim Mathesons movies. Both actors are very versital THe subject matter deals with a woman on the run with her children after her husband takes them from her. You have to watch this to find out all the twists and turns her life takes.
