Best kinda music 17 Dec 2010
Format:Audio CD
Colin Hay is not well known, but deserves wider play on radio.

He has exceptional talent and this is one of his best collections.

WOW! Man at Work 4 Jun 2005
By Ronald J. Goralski - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Forget about anything that you remember about Men at Work. This is stipped-down, heartfelt music for the 40+ crowd. Colin's lyrics are hip, refreshing, and mature while staying playful. Middle-age has brought Colin to a place where he has no regrets about his past and is looking forward to the future. I never like a CD after one play. I'll never say never again. Give it a spin - listen to a man comfortably at work.

Gorgeous acoustic album! 13 Mar 2007
By Craig Fisher - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
With the 2005 re-release of the wonderful disc "Going Somewhere" it is evident that Colin Hay has come full-circle from quirky 80's/MTV phemon to a formidable songwriter of appreciable wit and charm, who can make other artists half his age look like they are standing still. And with thanks to some recent exposure on movie and TV soundtracks, Mr. Hay pulled together his most consistent solo album to date. Standout tracks include the immediately appealing "Beautiful World", the intensely moving "Waiting for My Real Life to Begin", and "Looking for Jack", a very catchy offering which, as Mr. Hay hilariously tells in concert, is about a run-in he had with one Mr. Nicholson. Add to this, "I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You" (featured in the movie Garden State, but not on the original release of this album), sweet 12-string work on "Circles Erratica", and some nice slide guitar on "Water Song" and you can start to see why this is such a fantastic little disc. Additionally, given that the album is somewhat of a patchwork quilt of previous efforts (several cuts do appear on earlier albums), in some ways it stands as a fitting document of a decade of high quality and underappreciated musicianship. And as Mr. Hay gets ready to stamp his trademark vocals and tight songwriting on an upcoming solo album of all new material, "Going Somewhere" may be the best disc you can get to hear what you've been missing out on all this time.

My apologies to Mr. Hay.... 16 Jun 2006
By J. Lovero - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I was a bit skeptical of Colin Hay just because I remember him as the goofy guy on MTV talking about vegemite sandwiches...but I heard the song of his on the Garden State soundtrack and that stuck with me. After purchasing this CD my only question is what are you waiting for? If you like Damien Rice, you'll love Colin Hay. He's a bit more brighter than Mr. Rice but equally soulfull. Colin's voice is a marvel to listen to. This kinds reminds me of when I re-discovered Aimee Mann after thinking she was just the chick with the crazy hair in the Till Tuesday video. Boy was I wrong there and equally so here. Great voice, great songwriter, great music. I can't wait to hear what's next.
