I wasn't born until March 1965,but I remember some of these tracks really well.In the late 60s my dad bought a Mid-price LP entitled Tijuana-Sound of Brass, this featured Spanish Flea,Third Man Theme,Tijuana Taxi and A Walk In The Black Forest plus Eight other tracks, the four tracks I've named are featured on this CD.
This is a really good album, mainly instrumental but happy music.Zorba the Greek is a stand out track.Back in the early 70s when I used to play my dads lps the Tijuana lps were always on the turntable, there was another LP of Beatle Covers.
Take a look at all the cds.
Reading the cover of of the Sound of brass LP by the Torero Band I don't think it has the same meaning today as it did in 1968,it describes the trumpet sound as newest, freshest, gayest Latin music and infectious gay music.Oh how times change. This is a welcome reissue and if you like to dabble into little known 60s music this is worth buying, and it's a good price, because it only lasts for 30 minutes.
Although this is tagged as Brass Band this ain't no Salvation Army CD.
