This brilliantly written and comprehensive biography of Dr. Joseph Goebbels reveals in easily absorbed detail, why he was indeed The Mastermind Of The Third Reich.
Author David Irving was the first researcher to gain full access to Goebbels' extensive diaries in Moscow, following the fall of the Soviet Union. Prior to this, their existance in total original codition, transcibed onto glass plates late in the war, was unknown to anyone outside a tight circle of politicians and archivsts in the USSR,
Irving has extracted and presented here, the full salient information from these diaries and revealed not the club-footed charicature of Allied war and post-war propaganda, but a dedicated, highly intelligent and complex historical figure.
This is not a revisionist publication aimed at neo-Nazis, but a balanced enquiry into an enigmatic and complex personality.
Highly recommended to all readers with an open mind, keen to read some "Real History".

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and found it a very informative and un-biased account.I had known quite a lot about Goebbels before I read this book but now feel that my knowledge about him has been greatly increased.

Why is this book so expensive?
David Irving is a great writer, totally unafraid to go where the evidence takes him. The Goebbels biography is totally unbiased, presenting the man and the politician with a clarity rarely seen in these days of self imposed censorship.

Another well-researched and beautifully - written book by David Irving. I love his command of both the English and German languages. Unlike many historians, David is able to translate the original German diaries and documents - for himself. I also respect and am in awe at the meticulous care and tremendous amount of research invested by David in giving the world this important work. I learned a lot about Goebbels - as well how to evaluate the objectivity and credibility of other historical works. I love learning new things and this book taught me a lot. I'm now looking forward to getting David's next book. It'll probably be the one about Göring.
