Uninspired 13 Oct 2010
By Mr. David C. Halliday TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD
I made the error I usually avoid of buying this without having had a listen first.
I won't be making that mistake again in a hurry. What tempted me was how much cheaper the download is on Amazon. Still feel like I want my money back though!
There's a real mixture here and a sizeable playlist with some relatively unknowns and the usual suspects bumping alongside each other.
Also a lot of the tracks chosen are very good but NOT in the remixes found here.
It's as if someone has tried their level best to find the slowest, dullest and most uninteresting versions available. Even the uber-reliable such as Ferry Corsten & Deadmaus have had solid tracks turned into lifeless mush. Where are the sweeping synth lines and adrenaline pumping hardfloor mixes? Not here thats for sure.
A boring collection of very different tracks all made to sound the same with a 90's click track, slow beat and god help us someone wittering on about being free, the sky and how good it feels far too often. Yawn. Been there done that.
There are some tracks that have escaped the remix kiss of death but far too few.
Way too many tunes here start off slow and simply stay that way, no hook, no theme and nothing to keep the listeners interest.
There is a huge collection here and while that and the price may seem to offer good value for money alongside the fact that the mix is well mastered, think again. Any album must ultimately be judged by it's content and I am sorry to say that this is very poor. There simply is not enough variety and just far too little to inspire or keep you entertained and way too much pop.
Not nearly good enough.

"Trance" is an extremely loose definition for this compilation. Don't expect uplifting, euphoric tracks on this one, it's a seemingly endless 80 minutes per CD of thump thump thump with the odd whoosh thrown in. Maybe they think it's that terrifying "progressive" trance nonsense - but progress suggests going somewhere, which this doesn't. It's a slow, lifeless mix of tracks which even big names can't save. I'd recommend Andy Moor's Trance Nation CD from a few months back if you want a true picture of good, worthwhile trance. Trance Nation Mixed By Andy Moor

Good value trance 28 Sep 2011
Format:Audio CD
I think the above 2 reviews are rather harsh on a cd which I own and really rather like. All three cd's start off rather housey and kick offaround about track 5 or so. Okay some tracks are better than others but all in all there is enough packed on the mix I feel to justify the purchase. Garreth Emery, Sanctuary is just 1 standout track that springs to mind. Perception by Markus Schulz is another. There is also a lot of old classics dusted off and remixed which although different and I will to some extent agree with the other reviewer in some cases not as good or possibly full on as the originals it is new music you are getting and not some tired classics album. Actually this cd has that much packed on it you can listen again and again without getting bored. I have owned this since it came out and it is actually no word off a lie in the car stereo at the minute. I also own the 2010 album which is also a good compilation. I feel this is a solid, good value purchase . I also own Andy Moor trance nation and I agree it is a cracking album. So to finish I say it would be a boring world if everyone likes the same thing, but two bad reviews should not be allowed to stand over this album. I say buy it. It's good honest!
