Product Description

This is the second book in the Rising of a Mage Trilogy.

Miskrull was a creature of legend. Every dwarf had heard the stories about how he had nearly eradicated thier race on more than one occasion. Now, he had already destroyed one of their kingdoms and was coming for Evermount. Their only hope was Grizzle. With his newly acquired hammer, blessed by the dwarf god, Bordin, and his friends, who each was sent by the gods of men to help protect against the minion of chaos.

How much help will the mage, Anwar, be without submitting to the will of one of the gods of magic? How far will he be willing to go, when the life of the one he loves hangs in the balance? Will he sacrifice his beliefs? His very soul?

Anwar will need the help of all his friends, new and old, to overcome the challenges in front of him. The fate of the world may depend upon it.

3.0 out of 5 stars great story - bad editing 23 July 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed the story line and the pacing of the book. I was really annoyed by the editor. poor grammar and spelling in every chapter. Knew = something new. New = someone knew about something! This names just a few of the poor work of Fosberg's editor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sequal surpassing the first 2 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The story continues and further develops the characters in a creative way, meaning that the readers are drawn into the story and new characters are introduced in a way that allows them to fit in with the established group. Overall one of the best reads I've had in some time. Would recommend it to anyone

1.0 out of 5 stars Big disappointment and a real waste of time. 25 April 2013

After the first book I was hoping the author would have been able to build on what looked like a good plot adding depth and better character development. There was a lot of potential and I was hoping the time would be taken to develop the story and maybe get some editing assistance but that was not to be. Save your money. I have read much better .99 cent eBooks.

Now I am not talking about wrong verb tense or finding "your" instead of "you're" in places, I am talking about whole paragraphs where the wrong character's name is used in the dialog or where you are introduced to new characters, cities, and terms but no detail or followup is given to help add that character into the plot.

There are secondary characters introduced for the sole purpose of "killing" the main character and they seem to die in fight but you aren't sure if they did or not cause the detail of the battle never describes the end. Its like "where did they go??".

There are steps going up the to city described as a marvel but you are never given a description of what the city looks like or how marvelous it is. Steps don't make a city.

Where the descriptions and names of the creatures they are fighting change in the middle of the battle (trolls become orcs). Again, you are left asking yourself if you missed a page.

Wasting time on sex scenes when the plot, background, and character development is totally ignore sadly shows really poor authorship and makes a VERY shallow story! Not to mention you're left asking "to what purpose" was that tossed in here for? Describing animal actives at a barnyard in springtime is not writing, its biology and its boring in a story.

Dropping this one from my kindle library.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs editing 13 April 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

Not as exciting as the first book. The story kind of fizzled midway through....and so many editing issues made it hard to read; frustrating. I could not devour this book like the many others I've read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved It!!! 7 April 2013
By Jason Black - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
As second books go this was an extremely enjoyable read. Having only recently stumbled on the hidden gem of the first book (by an author I was otherwise unfamiliar with) I was a little apprehensive about what the quality of the 2nd installment. I'm sure we all been there - really good first book then a second book which really disappoints. This I was happy to see was not the case with this installment. The book contained the perfect balance of action, intrigue and suspense. Magic! If I had to offer a critique it would be that I the author not lose that balance but give one of his newly minted fans more! I read this installment in one day!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed 2 April 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

Does not meet my expectations based on the first book.

Rushed and disjointed story, poor plot and character development. Would have benefited from having an editor look at it.

I would not recommend this book.
