If you want to fight the good fight of faith for God, then you will want to start by studying the lives of God's Generals - men and women who were dynamically empowered by the Holy Spirit to bring a revival of God's miraculous presence, worldwide!
These fascinating spiritual biographies presented by Pastor/Historian Roberts Liardon will introduce you to twelve of the turn of this century's most extraordinary heroes of the faith, including:

JOHN ALEXANDER DOWIE, "The Healing Apostle"

MARIA WOODWORTH-ETTER, "Demonstrator of the Spirit"

EVAN ROBERTS, "Welsh Revivalist"

CHARLES PARHAM, "The Father of Pentecost"

WILLIAM J. SEYMOUR, "The Catalust of Pentecost"

JOHN G. LAKE, "A Man Of Healing"

AIMEE SEMPLE McPHERSON, "A Woman of Destiny"

SMITH WIGGLESWORTH, "Apostle of Faith"

WILLIAM BRANHAM, "A Prophet of Notable Signs and Wonders"

JACK COE, "The Man of Reckless Faith"

A. A. ALLEN, "The Miracle Man"

KATHRYN KUHLMAN, "The Woman Who Believed in Miracles"

As you study their lives and ministries, you will learn how they achieved their amazing successes, and how to avoid their pit/falls and failures. But most importantly, you will learn how you can be a victorious leader for God"

I literally couldn't put this one down.Liardon has delivered a punchy, utterly engrossing collection of short biographies of 12 powerfully gifted revivalists of the last century. His commentary is pithy, cutting straight to a practical application for the reader.Spot on.Endnotes suggest further reading once your interest is aroused. The carefully chosen photos were fascinating. This is a book I'll read again and again and again.

I have always been greatly impacted by the words and works of Roberts Liardon and this book is no exception. I've actually heard him preach on this series before, but reading it straight from the book is a definite different experience. He makes each unique individual come alive with fire and passion. This book will open the eyes of many to catch a glimpse of the awe-inspiring lives of men and women who once lived so very closely to the Most High God!

It is more than obvious that Roberts Liardon had spent some considerable time researching the early pentecostal movement and its leaders. What impressed me the most, though, was the fact that he wrote a work that was primarily historical in nature and, yet, he made it interesting. In fact, I read the book five times.

What else can I say... to have a book full of the lives of some of the most spirit-filled men and women of the last few centuries is amazing. Not only do we see God's movement in their lives, we also see what happens when God calls you to do something specific, and you ignore Him. This is definately a must-read.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It talks about men and women who did great things for God, most of them came from really humble beginnings, you could say nothing special, but all of them did amazing things. I also was hooked into the 3 women mentioned as you don;t usually hear much about women in modern times used powerfully by God. This book excited me and made me think about being more focused and just maybe doing something great too.

I am about completing the "Ministers' In Training" programme in my church - New Wine Church, here in the UK. It is such a wonderful blessing to have had GOD'S GENERALS video on the programme, and coupled with the fact that Roberts Liardon has ministered in my church twice in the last 24 months or thereabout.
The book is a treasure, and highly recommended. Thanks for such a great compillation.

These are fascinating biographies of very influential Christians. Roberts Liardon really does his research and he tells it like it is. He does not gloss over the weaknesses and failures of his subjects, but he does not destroy their reputations, either. he treats them like real human beings, with strengths and weaknesses and endeavours to give a true picture of their contribution to the history of the Church.
He draws some excellent lessons from the lives of these twelve individuals, which are of value to the individual and to the Church as a whole. One of the best Christian books that I've read.
