4.0 out of 5 stars I can't believe its over 6 Jun 2013
Format:Paperback
There are always a few things that go through my mind when I am about to start the final book in a much loved series. The main being, will it end as I want it to? And so I have come to the conclusion that no series, for me, will ever end as I want it to...why? Because I will always be saddened that there will be no more books. Fortunately though Goddess was an amazing finale, although I'm still left wanting more. Damn you Josephine Angelini with your clearly fated talent!

It did take me a while to get back into Angelini's world because it had been so long since Dreamless had been released. I was utterly confusedover the situation with Matt and it did take me a good seven chapters to understand what was going on. Another thing that confused me was the names. Oh My God! The names. I honestly gave up trying to remember who people were in Troy and then who they were today. Despite these bits that I just sort of skimmed over (it would have made more sense if I read each book right after the previous one) I truly did love this book.

Greek mythology has always fascinated me, any type of religion really...as we all know. But I adored Angelini's twist on it. The concept of cycles was intriguing, and although it was obvious who the Tyrant truly was I loved the mixture of fate and free will. We get to see glimpses of the other lives that Lucas and Helen shared, and I was jumping up with glee when they also turned out to be Guinevere and Lancelot. Gosh! It was like this fantastical mixture of my favourite stories. Amaze-ing.

If you have read the other two, which you must, you will know that everything was leading up to this EPIC battle. And was it EPIC! Angelini is an amazing storyteller, who draws her readers in and won't let them go until they are left wanting more.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Cracking Finale! 5 Jun 2013
By Book Passion for Life TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
Oh yeah!! Now that's what I'm talking about!!! Josephine Angelini is back and back better than ever, because Goddess is a cracking finale - one full of action, drama, love and an epic past and I absolutely loved it.

It's no secret that how much I loved Starcrossed and it's no secret how much I didn't like Dreamless. So, in all honestly, I was worried what Josephine would do with the final book in this series, but I'm so over the moon she did us readers proud!!! It is one of them books that gives you tingles while reading it, and I was literally a bundle of nerves all the way through. I did have to peak at the ending before I started reading it though - I know, so bad! But I needed to prepare myself. ;)

Helen has really grown through-out this series, she's gone from a normal teenager to a girl who is now one of the strongest with supernatural powers. I believe she's handled everything well and it's been great to watch her journey. It was amazing to watch her come into her powers, test them out and then finally start to use them. Her journey has been an emotional one - especially when it comes to Lucas.

Lucas, my boy Lucas! How I do love him. He's amazing and really he's such an open book, you can see everything he feels from his face and I felt so bad for him through-out Dreamless. Imagining loving a girl you can't have, but knowing you won't be able to move on ever? Yep, that's why I felt for him. He's such a loyal person, that it's hard not to love him.

The whole Lucas, Helen, Orion love triangle was one of the main reasons I didn't love Dreamless. In all honestly, I'm pretty sick of so many authors introducing them. They're kind of played out now, so I'm glad Josephine Angelini didn't drag it out and that Helen made the right choice in the end.

Okay so I LOVED the first book (my god, that ending), regretted the second book (erg, love triangle) and this one… I really enjoyed. I read it in one sitting and it redeemed this series for me because it gave me all the happy, sappy romantic endings I wanted, a huge battle scene and of course… the Greek freaking gods. Oh my.

I came into this book a little bit blind because I had not read the other books for like a year and there are so many characters in this series. But thanks to excellent writing I found my bearings pretty quickly. It starts up right at the end of book 2, when pretty much all the Scions are still injured and in recovery mode – but fear not because as always, while lying in bed, Helen is having some pretty intriguing dreams.

You might think by this point the trilogy would have run out of new characters to throw at us, but instead we meet Andy (who is great: half-siren, independent, caring and pursued by the horny god Apollo) and Matt’s character takes on a whole new purpose in this series from the very start of this book – that was a sucker punch and a half.

This was a very fast paced book despite how often it switched between points of view (Helen’s, Lucas’, Hector’s, Andy’s, Helen’s mum’s…). This series has such well rounded, complex characters and a plot so choc-a-block with suspense and squeal worthy moments, that not matter whose point of view you’re reading, you’re hooked. I’d definitely compare it to a perfect meal – yum!

I have to say I am SO happy about how Josephine Angelini resolved the Lucas-Helen-Orion love triangle – both boys HEAs were perfect. I was a bit surprised by the openings the ending left for a possible fourth book (isn’t this a trilogy?

The final book in this trilogy. Though fairly obvious ending, still nicely done. Helena and Lucas literally have to create a brand new world to finally be together.
