Im going to keep this review short. Why? Because anyone who is planning on buying
this game will not care what anyone else thinks. You've seen the trailers, played
the demos and now its time to see yourself if it has lived up to everything.

GRAPHICS
This is on par with Uncharted 2, if not better in several places. Hands down
they are 2 of the best looking console games so far. Each has their own strengths,
GOW3 has amazing greek landscapes, temples, ruins, caves and the whole ancient look
going for it which really makes it look special. And the gore is on a new level.

GAMEPLAY
The tried and tested stuff here, if it aint broke dont fix it. More enemies, more
boss battles, more puzzles, a few new types of gameplay which i wont spoil but its
classic God Of War which all fans should be very familar with. There are a few new
weapons for Kratos to use but other than that its all back.

STORY
You continue where you left off. Most of the story is focused on your revenge, everything
you do is somehow contributing to your revenge against Zeus and the Gods. It ends in style,
it didnt feel like they patched it together like a lot of places have been saying.

DISLIKES
Not much to dislike here at all. Only on your second play through might you get a tad annoyed
as the cut scenes are not skippable, and the button pressing events do get tedious after you
have to watch the same type of enemy dying for another time. But that is it to be honest.

OVERALL
As a fan i couldn't ask for much more. Everything in this instalment has improved upon the
previous two in my opinion. This is a great trilogy and it ended with a bang, i feel satisfied
with the end result and im sure most people will do to. For me, this game is worthy of a 5/5.

Of all the games I've got, this is one of my favourites. The game play and the storyline are both great. The action starts from the very beginning and keep you hooked until the very end. I would recommend everybody to buy this game. You certainly will not be disappointed.

I liked:
-The opening is epic. Kratos really hits the ground running in an epic fight with Gaia against Poseidon. The sense of scale and graphics at this point are very good.
-The gore. They don't hold back on this one. Some of the deaths are ridiculously gory, but also ridiculously satisfying. My faves are an eye-gouging, a decapitation with bare hands, and faces being smashed in.
-The combat is, most of the time, very good, and basically a more refined system than God of War 2. The weapon switching is done particularly well, as it can be done mid-combo, allowing for some deep attack combos.
-The setting and style are really good. Anyone who knows anything about Greek mythology will be surprised to see so many different beasts in a video game that are (reasonably) faithful to the mythos as a whole, even if the story isn't.

I disliked:
-The graphics and level design are quite inconsistent, some levels are great but others look like they obviously spent less time on them. The early levels are spectacular, but the middle levels are less so. Overall, it seems a little rushed, which is disappointing especially considering the short play time.
-The boss fights for Hermes and Helios are disappointing, and lack the imagination and amazing character design of Hades and Poseidon. I'd have preferred it if they spent more time on them rather than some of the less inspired levels.
-Is it necessary for Kratos to go to the Underworld again? He's already been there, seen it, got the T-Shirt. To me this felt like a way to stretch out the length of the campaign.
-Come to think of it, The game is pretty short - about 8 hours.
-It's a bit QTE-heavy for an 'action game'.
-Kratos is such a douche.

You return as Kratos, more pissed off and angrier at the Gods than ever! Picking up immediately after the events of God Of War 2, Kratos is hell bent on ascending Mount Olympus and killing the remaining Gods. The almighty Titans are backing Kratos' progress up the mountain in pursuit of Zeus. The ghost of Sparta has set his sights on bringing the destruction of Olympus.

Kratos has been motivated by vengeance since the very first game, which makes this theme a strong driving force behind his actions. God Of War 3 is much darker in tone, diving into the sheer hatred that Kratos holds for the Olympian Gods. The Titans are also integrated well into the story and bridge the gap in the sometimes bloated narrative.

G R A P H I C S & S O U N D
From the moment you take control of Kratos, the world around him is a technical power house for the PS3. The visuals boast scale and size that set a new benchmark for game production. Even though level design follows a linear path, the same cannot be said for the scale on show. The camera will zoom out to show Kratos as a tiny dot on the screen, surrounded by the enormous Titans. Texture resolution and polygon counts have increased by four times to that of the previous game. Kratos' character model is brimming with detail, displaying realistic skin texturing, to the point the pores are visible! Animations are silky smooth, the Spartans muscle strain and contract when moving objects or performing feats of ridiculous strength.

The gore and violence is off the charts here. Sony Santa Monica introduce Zipper Technology to showcase Kratos' ability to carve enemies open and let their insides spill out as a bloody mess. The result is both disturbing and deliciously gruesome.
