Product Description

The critically acclaimed show, Californication, is one of Showtime's highest rated programs. Averaging about two million viewers an episode, it is the most successfully rated freshman series in Showtime history. A Golden Globe nominee for Best Television Series (Comedy or Musical), Californication features an electric, likeable cast, led by actor David Duchovny, who won a Golden Globe for his performance playing Hank Moody.

God Hates Us All is the novel written by Duchovny's character, Hank Moody, which in the show is turned into a Hollywood film entitled A Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Timed to coincide with the premiere of the Season 3 of the hit series, this will allow fans an extra, backstage look at the concept of the show not available through episodes.

A great book 9 Feb 2010
Format:Paperback
First of all, this isn't a book about Californication. It is meant to be the book that the main character, Hank, wrote. I am one of those sad, sad people that want fictional characters and what not to be real. Thats why i like books like these. The story is about a young man that is quite unlucky with the ladies and jobs. He ends up becoming a drug dealer and and trying to woo a woman in a relationship. Lots of funny, and sometimes tragic, things happen which makes it interesting through out. The narration will make you picture Hank Moody and hear his beaten down by life voice, which in my opinion is great! I recommend this to fans of the show. It clearly has the same writers and i can't get enough of the humour!

Format:Paperback
I wanted a book that would be witty & funny in order to keep me interested & being a big fan of the show I thought why not give this book a go. Have to say I utterly enjoied reading it, though at times nearing the borders of distasteful this is why I loved it, its a trueful representation as Hank as a character, he is never afraid to just be upfront about things & say it like it is. I loved the sex, drugs & Rock n roll theme portrayed. Loved laughing at his failures & the brillaint humour used. Everytime I sat there reading it I felt a little like Mia from the show when Hank first meets her sat in the bookstore reading his book & laughing to herself, which is exactly what it makes you do. I enjoied the characters, the plot & felt it was just the right length, it left you wanting more which is what a book should do.

I would definately recommend it to anyone who enjoied the show, though not for those who haven't seen it as in my opinion you definately need to know a little about Hank before you go diving in at the deep end as you could get easily offended. Loved the title too, always gets people asking about what your reading possibly because they think your reading some sort of religious hate book rather than a comedy. I love Californication & I loved this book fingers crossed they release the other two novels featured on the show.

Hank is a winner 3 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback
For those who enjoyed the Californication TV programs, they will love this book. It gives an insight to why Hank is Hank. His loves, his jobs, his outlook on people and life. The lost of his mother and his realationship with his dad, is also covered and covered well.

He chases women he shouldn't and pushes away those he should keep close.

Well written, whitty and gritty. A very easy read and very entertaining.

A must for the fans of the show or the geeks who need more.

This is a great book, written in the style of the popular show. Be aware though, that only the style is similar, the book is in NO WAY related to the show whatsoever. Read more
