this book is set during Great Britains industrial revolution and tells of a mans struggles to keep his company running during times of change and innovation.
Once you start reading this book you won't be able to put it down, each page reveals more exitement and struggles of the past. It is by far the best written book that i have ever read and i am sure that anyone buying it will agree!

I have been reading and re-reading R F DELDERFIELD for over forty years, good writing never loses its appeal,
I am delighted to say I still enjoy these books as much as I ever did.
Written about a bygone time, in the beautiful language of a bygone age, I find these books enthralling and an absolute joy to read.

Love R F Deldefield Books. Have read the Trilogy countless times. Crying out to be serialised on TV. Recommend this author to anyone.

I bought this as it was a choice for my book group. It is rather long winded and I am don't think he has much understanding of how women think.

This book was too goody goody for words, I kept reading it because it was for the book club. Perhaps I am too used to things going wrong in books, films etc.

Excellent imagery but very wordy, began to skip pages towards the end. Very interesting precursor to the haulage business
Have read other Delderfield but found this one a bit heavy going..
