I was excited to see that Mary Monroe had added another episode in the dramas of Annette and Rhoda. I would actually give this book 3.5 stars if i coud.
Firstly the good bits: The fact that the pair is together again was great, and made for great reading. Rhoda continues to support Annette as her marriage and sanity are put to the test when she receives hate mail and packages from someone wanting her to leave town. Rhoda's outwardly perfect marriage is also put under the microscope when we scratch the surface and see that not everything that glitters is gold. It's also great to see Pee Wee as a black man who is trying to save his marriage, is faithful, and loves his wife whatever size she is and whatever she puts him through. Many a man would have walked, but he doesn't and by the end of the book it simply comes down to the fact that he truly loves Annette.
The bad? In a nutshell Jade. Yes I know there are some spoiled young people in the world, but I found her character unbelievable and not couldn't get my head around it. Although on a positive note I have now added "joy juice" to my vocabulary.
Overall this book is not as great as the previous instalments, but there is enough to keep you guessing and wondering right up to the end.
