After having had this album since it was first released when I was 17/16. Normally with this genre of music you grow out of it as your tastes move along. But there's a real passion that the band contributes to the music which lures you whenever you want something a bit more energetic.

The music is predominantly punk, but has some great funky licks from the guitars and rhythm section along with an unusual but increasingly likeable vocal from Seymour Glass. When combined, they create this unique and wonderful combination that leaves you craving more. It's severely underrated.

I really hope they are still going because they are doing something that most bands don't touch on. Don't miss out on this treat if you like rock or punk... Or even if you just have a passion for good, energetic music.

If you don't own a copy of this album, then stop reading this review and order one...now!
I can guarantee that as long you enjoy new, quality music created by young talented artists- then Miss Black America will not disappoint you.
The band cannot be compared to any other group because it is their own unique style that sets them appart from the everyday rubbish that fills the airways and most high-street record stores. With the mixture of strong vocals, drums, bass and lead guitar, the group are oozing musical genius.
Each track on 'God Bless Black America' is a fine piece of music in its own right, so that no two songs sound alike. I found that 'Track 9- Dont Speak My Mind' stands out as a superb overall insight into the bands music, that the writer should be proud to have created. The lyrics are clear and bold, backed up by a mixture of mellow and hard hitting guitar and drums.
'Miss Black America' should be pleased with this album, as should everyone who owns a copy. Just one minor complaint- more Mike vocals please!!!

I cannot understand why the Amazon official review is so negative about this Album. This is not teen angst at all, or at least not in the same way as the cliche is usually intended. This is a CD of great, heartfelt songs, with solid bass and drums underlying the genius of Gish on guitar with Seymour Glass calling the youth to arms with his powerful, thin, but recognisable voice. Listen to it loud, sing along and see them live (the new line up)!
