Product Description

Product Description

30 utterly original, darkly surreal and dangerously funny tales unfold in the present, past and future in mythic space and the not-quite-ordinary everyday world. In them you will meet a panoply of unforgettable characters, including the ex's of both God and Death, a dog addicted to cocaine, a couple who literally merge through the intensity of their mutual lust; and another who eat their kids. And of course, the goat that ate its own legs.

About the Author

Alex Burrett has lived a ridiculously unjoined up life. His work reflects this.

Weirdly wonderful 23 Mar 2009
Format:Paperback
Strikes me as what it would be like if Kilgore Trout hadn't wrote fiction and had better diction. Fot those of you who don't know what that means this is a fantastic collection of tales that are always biarre but never irrelevant. Burrett is an excellent narrator who makes the most of his feverish imagination to ask some intriguing questions about society, religion and the human condition. Most of all though he is hugely entertaining.

Bizarre but Brilliant 19 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback
I'm not really into short stories but this book was not what I was expecting....a real surprise. I can't believe anyone could imagine one storey with such creativity, let alone thirty. Each one is different but with a twist and a punch to keep you interested to the very last word. I have bored all my friends with how brilliant it is and would highly recommend it.
