  • Manufacturer's Description

The Light-A-Life LED Light is a bright, low-power-draw LED light you can place wherever a soft, lantern-type light is desired. String them up around your campsite, beach, or backyard easily with the adjustable carabiner and enjoy the night.

Bright, efficient LED light that's great for illuminating campsites, walkways, and more
    Efficient, USB-Powered Illumination

Packed into the Light-A-Life's lantern-style design is a 3-watt LED bulb for simple, efficient lighting wherever you need it. It's rated for 20,000 hours of use, for a long life of illumination while on the road or outdoors. The Light-A-Life can be placed nearly anywhere using its carabiner-style hook. Daisy-chain up to eight lights together for illumination at your campsite, on walkways, inside your tent, on your porch, or anywhere you might need light to see your way.

    Multiple Power Sources

The Light-A-Life LED light can be powered from any 12V DC inverter. You can also use Goal Zero portable power packs such as the Sherpa 50 or the Sherpa 120 (sold separately) to power the Light-A-Life.

Please note: the Light-A-Life bulb is a 12V light bulb that needs to be powered by a 12V DC source--it is not meant for a conventional 100V AC socket.

    Weather Resistant

When you're outdoors, you can't always predict the weather. Fortunately, the Light-A-Life is weather-resistant, allowing you to see your way even in inclement weather. No need to worry about getting your tent caught in a sudden summer shower at the beach, or a surprise light snowfall during a camping trip in the mountains.

    Carry It Anywhere

The highly portable size of the Light-A-Life light makes it a cinch to carry with your other outdoor gear, and the 9-foot extender cord gives you plenty of reach between your power source and your lighting area. It's ideal as a light source during camping trips, but can function as an easy-to-use LED light wherever you need illumination.

    What's in the Box?

Goal Zero Light-a-Life 3-Watt LED Light, 12V male cigarette adapter, 9' cord, patented carabiner, manual, warranty.

Works fine, very well build. Sturdy cord that will survive many camping trips. The only con is that the light is too white. It should be around 3500K, but its really not. Its bright white light. Not very cozy in your tent or anywhere. Ordered a replacement bulb on Ebay for $ 3.49. Maybe that does the trick.

We used these in conjunction with Goal Zero Escape 150 Battery Pack and Goal Zero Boulder 15M Solar Panel to light a large marquee on camp. They (we used 8 in total) were more than adequate and allowed a safe space to be created throughout the night. Daisy chaining them together was easy as was connecting them to the Escapes at the end of the day. The cable ties provided in sensible velcro (the stuff that doesn't snag) didn't collect camp detritus and allowed the cables to be gathered effectively. The built in carabiners are really strong. The only thing missing is some kind of stopper mechanism to prevent all the lights crashing in together in the wind when suspended from a rope.

When ours arrived, the "bulbs" (for want of a better word) were a little lose and I panicked that they weren't working - they just needed screwing in and all was well. The individual switches are both a blessing and a curse in that they all need switching on and off, but do allow power and light control when you don't need a flood lit marquee.

Top lighting product, with high level of illumination, defiantly ticks all the boxes. I would highly recommend this product for outdoor adventures. I would also recommend the goal zero yeti solar generator, for versatile power on the go.

Great idea - needs more development 27 Jun 2011
By Duane L. Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Save your cardboard packing for the light assembly inside the light-a-life. The led assembly comes lose easily and could cause damage during transport. Other than this issue no complaints.

Light output is good - agree that it is equal to a 45 watt bulb. I put two inside a seven person tent and felt that I was overlighting by camping standards. The included carabiner clips make the system versitile when hanging. The velcro cord strap is handy for strapping together extra cord. It impressed all of my camping partners. The lights chain together easily.

Once the led light assembly issue is resolved this will be a five star product.

does include cigarette adapter 20 Dec 2011
By Damon Thompson - Published on Amazon.com

In the picture it does not show a cigarette adapter but it is included in the package in a separate bag. This makes it really useful in a car, boat or a portable power pack that is not from Goal Zero.

The light is bright but not irritating because of the shade. The LEDs are arrayed on a "bulb" that actually screws into the lamp like a regular light bulb. It has a nice hook and velcro to store the cable. It has a solid feel about it and I think this will be perfect for camping or power outages.

good lights well worth amazon's price 9 Sep 2011

i purchased 2 of these to light up a 10 ft x 10 ft wood shed and so far they have done better than all the previous lights i have purchased. when i ordered them i expected them to be about the same size as goal0's estrella lights. they are in fact a lot bigger so if space is a concern get the estrella light. with them powered by my solar array i get about 16 hours of light on a single charge. the one problem i have is that if you jiggle the cords a little the light can go out which can be a problem since the lights hang by their power cord. the price on amazon is the best you can get. much better than even goal0's site.

    BRIGHT alternative 11 May 2011
By Tonithetiger - Published on Amazon.com
This light is so bright! Bright white LED's. I daisy-chained 3, inside a screen tent camping. My "chandelier" was the talk of the trip. Approx. 130 watts, (for the 3). Pair it with the Scout 150, for hook-up. Great alternative from using lanterns that use batteries. Imagine the possibilities...power outages, camping, emergencies, car or boat, trailer, cabin, inside/outside...where ever! GREAT PRODUCT!

Only tent light you will need. 19 Aug 2011

My wife would always fumble around at night in the tent looking for stuff. I bought this light with the goal zero 150 battery. She said it would be a waste of money. First trip out I waited until it was dark and when she was looking for the kids night cloths I turned on the light. She apologized for doubtin me. The led bulb assembly puts out an impressive amount of light. I hang it from the center of the tent. I use a couple of small clips to attach the cord to the tent wall. The light is lightweight so it does not put stress on your poles or hurt if you bump into it at night. I keep the battery near my cot so I can unplug and plug it back in without having to get up. Excellent product.
