The third instalment of the football drama trilogy. Kuno Backer reprises his role as Mexican footballer Santiago Munez, who finds himself pitted against his best friends, Real Madrid team-mates and England players Charlie Braithwaite (Leo Gregory) and Liam Adams (JJ Feild) in the hope of winning the sport's ultimate prize at the 2006 FIFA World Cup Finals in Germany. Meanwhile, Liam must finally face up to his responsibilities as an adult, both on and off the field of play. Nick Moran and Tamer Hassan co-star.

1.0 out of 5 stars Goal III? More like Own Goal 16 Jun 2009
Basically without any spoilers, whoever rates this film above one star has obviously NOT seen or understood the first 2 Goal Movies, this is one to avoid at all costs, it will ruin your image of Goal. Santiago is pitted against his Real Madrid team mates (who are not even in the first two films at all) they fail to mention that Santiago, the character the film is about DOES NOT EVEN PLAY in the world cup, nor in the whole film. Hes written off the main story within half an hour and the film then focuses on the love life of two fictitious England footballers and the pain of exiting to Portugal at the World Cup 2006. Im suprised Kuno agreed to do this movie as hes more of a guest star than a central focal character. Its low budget which is explains the so called live action scenes but thats not what bothers me, 2 years of waiting for this film and a director, writer etc have ruined the franchise not just for me but for every true Goal Fan. All those unanswered questions left at the end of Goal 2 (Santis unborn son etc etc) will never be discovered, in fact, all past characters are not even mentioned. So if you want to watch a GOAL film, just watch the previous two and make up your own conclusion of the trilogy, because you certainly will not find it here.

1.0 out of 5 stars Goal ? 15 Jun 2009
What an utter train-wreck of a movie, the Goal trillogy was supposed to be about the story of Sanitago Munez, a Mexican kid from the streets of LA who makes good, well the first two installments are, and you'd be forgiven to think that the next step would be a finale where the Munez story concludes at the world cup....... but no.

Goal 3 isn't even about Santiago Munez, he barely features, the story is about two fictious England players that have not had a mention in the story thus far, it feels like a cheap spin off of Goal rather than the concluding part of the Munez story.

No Anna Friel, no "Gavin Harris", just toe-curling cliche after cliche, just a huge disapointment to those that enjoyed the first two installments of this football tale.

If I could give no stars, I would.

1.0 out of 5 stars Goal Missed 18 Jun 2009
I was looking forward to Goal 3 with such anticipation and was completely and utterly disappointed with what i saw. The whole point of the Goal franchise was revolved around Santiago Munez but even he wasn't in this one very much - you didn't even see him play. What was the point of wasting £9.68 to watch a film that didn't even answer any of the previous questions that were left unsolved in Goal 2?

What happened to Ros? Gavin?

I was maybe thinking they would be doing Goal 4 as Santiago was coming back to the UK so this was merely to get him back to the UK but honestly it was pointless and ruined a good movie.

If, and i use this term lightly, there was a Goal 4 just focus on completing Santiago's story - we want to know how it ends!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars How did this movie reach production?????????? 19 Jun 2009
........ What in gods name did i just watch...... it made me feel physically sick........ basically just go into a video store pick it up and throw it on the floor and be sick.......

The storyline was unbelievably poor with about a 1 minute guest appearance from Santiago Munez (Wasn't the film supposed to be about him)

Also what happen to Anna Friel and that whole storyline especially the whole kid on the way thing!!!!!!!!!

A big thank you to the directors, producers and writers for wasting an hour and a half of my precious life!!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars all the 1 star reviewers can't be wrong 29 Jun 2009
Ok...the plot is this
Two england footballers ( pals of 'Santi' ) go to the world cup in Germany, one dies after a hard tackle on the field, the other returns home and gets married. And Santi...oh yes him...well he is in it, all the way through in fact, but in the background as a support cast member.
The 'to be continued' cliffhanger at the end of goal 2 is not what this movie is about. Santi does not speak to the absent Anna Friel on his mobile to clear it all up and find out he is (or might be) about to be a dad, does'nt kick a ball in anger or contact his family. Santi's biggest role in goal 3 is on the cover of the dvd...right at the front.
Now..thats where i think the viewer has been conned, but i will say that if the producers wanted to leave us in suspense and break away from the storyline to do a movie about England in the world cup, i could have gone along with it. They did'nt need to bring in new characters to do it, and could have used a more interesting storyline that followed on from the last goal film...still i could have forgiven all of that IF THE MOVIE LOOKED GOOD ! But no, the football action comprised of world cup footage and any interaction of the actors on the pitch was done using the 'blue screen method'..... Ahhhh!! so fake, so back to the 70's 80's, very surprised its still used at all nowadays because film goers won't accept it, and there in a nutshell is why its here on dvd only !
People dont just hate this film because its not the story of Santiago munez. Halloween 3 had nothing to do with Michael Myers but in its own way it was'nt a bad movie, goal 3 WAS a bad movie and a let down to all who awaited it.
I dont suppose there will be a goal 4. Santi's dream was winning the champions league with Real.
