The legendary Goa Mix 10 Nov 2010
Format:Audio CD
The goa mix never got an official release as the purpose of it was to be broadcast on Radio 1 and didn't need to bother with licensing issues. When Cream released it in their shop it wasn't fully legal like a typical commercial DJ mix cd is these days because there was no licensing involved for each record in the mix.

This new release from 2010 was the first time the goa mix got a fully legal and official commercial release. It isn't the original cut of the goa mix that Oakenfold did in 1994 though, the whole thing has been redone, but is still for the most part based around the structure of the original goa mix.

The mixing in between each of the records is fresh with new transitions, some of the pieces have been covered by the Perfecto Symphony Orchestra, and some of the original records weren't used while some new records have been included. The arrangement of the whole mix has been slightly rearranged as well.

Overall it's a fresh take on the goa mix, and if you've heard the original goa mix, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with this new release of it!

For any of you that remember this the first time round it's an absolute must buy, it's been remastered so the quality is A1 and there's a couple of new tracks added to each CD, whether these enhance or take away from the original is for you to decide - either way it's still a classic mix and totally encapsulates the GOA sound from the mid 90's - absolute roaring anthems mixed with dreamy breakdowns.

For those you that have never heard of the mix this was originally broadcast as a radio 1 essential mix in 1994 and was never officially available until now... buy it!

This was voted the best essential mix of all time. There are some new tracks on this CD, but still pretty much the same as the original mix. A classic for those who want to be taken back into the great days of the early 90's when trance was best underground music going.

Quite pleasing, not as good as the original.
I liked the new Goa mix a lot. The problem is that sometimes it feels not consistent because of the introduction of new songs in between the old ones. Read more
