Not sure what all the fuss is about. I bought 3 hamsters (not at the crazy amazon price!)gave one to a 5 yr old boy for his birthday. He was bored with it within minutes. It runs around making an odd noise and when it bumps into a wall it changes direction. You are supposed to be able to stroke the hamster but what this actually involves is pushing a button on it's head,which is far from realistic. Surely there must be better toys out there. I am convinced these are "the emperors new clothes" of the toy world so if you really must have one then my advice is to wait until after xmas when retailers won't be able to give them away and under no circumstances pay over the odds for them ! merry christmas.

This hamster craze will die out soon as they eat batteries and are a bit boring after a while. No good on carpets and a bit frustrating for younger kids. Amazon only have stock as they are four times the normal price and double that of most auction sites! Beware - if you spend too much on one you will be disappointed!

Out of curiosity I bought Go Go Hamsters for my nieces and nephews after seeing an article on the Financial Times. They were a big success during Christmas. The children loved them and had a great time building ramps and tunnels with card boxes. I did not buy any of the accessories because the Hamsters ended up costing more than the "original market price" and I wanted to check the children's reaction first.
They are cute. They are fun. Just have to be careful with the wheels and tell children that. Good that the manufacturer warns people about being careful with the wheels - especially when close to your hair.

Go Go Hamaster are poor and not robust
Bought 3 Go Go Hamsters for XMAS. Within minutes 1 was broken, about an hour later the 2nd broke. Fixed the first one as it was a button falling out inside. Read more
