Book Description

“The fate of the world depends on us.”

With one mysterious e-mail, Bobby Kungenook—the teenage hockey phenom living undercover and guarding part of a revolutionary scientific breakthrough—realizes someone else shares his secret. The sender summons Bobby from New York to a rendezvous in radioactive Japan. There, with the help of Bobby’s guardian, Nadia Tesla, the two will forever alter mankind’s destiny.

But dangerous people from Bobby’s haunted past are hot on his heels, determined to possess what could be the power of life and death. And when the enigmatic e-mail sender, Genesis II, is kidnapped after a bloody showdown on the scarred streets of Fukushima, Bobby must tap into his remarkable abilities to pursue the brutal captors into the forbidding reaches of Siberia—and the land where his journey began.

As the Nadia Tesla series races to its stunning conclusion on the frozen shores of Lake Baikal, the boy from reactor four will claim his fate and become a legend.

    More About the Author

I was born in Connecticut to Ukrainian immigrants. I didn't speak English when I went to kindergarten. I've earned a living washing dishes, teaching English in Japan, and managing international investments. I am donating 25% of my royalties from the third book in the Nadia Tesla series, THE BOY WHO GLOWED IN THE DARK, through December, 2014, to Chernobyl Children International. I am also donating 10% of my royalties from the first two books in the series, THE BOY FROM REACTOR 4 and THE BOY WHO STOLE FROM THE DEAD. CCI funds surgical missions to Ukraine to help victims of the Chornobyl nuclear disaster. The people of Ukraine helped inspire this series, and this is an opportunity for me to show my appreciation.

    4.0 out of 5 stars A fitting finale 5 Mar. 2015
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Having read the first two I felt compelled to see the story through. Being familiar with the main characters meant it was easy to get into and the few back-references made sense. The finale was not what you might expect or wish for the characters, but at least it did complete the story. A decent enough read and an easy-to-read style.

The Boy Who Glowed in the Dark is the third book of the "Boy from the Reactor" trilogy, and maintains the fast pace and page-turning properties of the original two volumes.
While the book does pay homage to the original two books in the series in order to catch the reader up, it makes much more sense if you begin with the initial two books of the series. The quality and pace of the first two very well written tomes is not lost in this third copy, and the realism, intrigue and general tone and feeling of the story continues to impress.
The ending provides a twist and surprise that indicates that this third book may not be the end of the Tesla story, and I am interested to see if I am right and find out how the tale may proceed from here!
Fascinating reading, both as part of the thriller genre and also for those who are interested in the history of Chernobyl and Pripyat, and the former Soviet state.

Brilliant read again!!!!!!!!! Almost superman of Siberia....... the book has you racing along as you read, willing Nadia to find Bobby. However the ending is the only one possible given that bringing together the letters of the formula would give the owners world dominance. Bobby had found his first love and lost her but he would for have control of his destiny and not be used by others. Out of respect for Eva's father he had taken his name 'Lou' and would learn how he had lived. Nadia would perhaps hear one day from Bobby, as her Russian friend Simmy told her a wolf could not always be alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars You must read all three books! 21 April 2015
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Each book in the series is excellent, fast paced and full of (sometimes scary!) information. Each book is a separate sorry, with links to each book throughout, but to really enjoy the story, read them all in sequence: The Boy from Reactor 4, The Boy Who Stole from the Dead and then this one, The Boy Who Glowed in the Dark. Some of the places and names are difficult to pronounce, but look them up and by the end of the books, they are not quite as difficult as you first thought. Great read! Looking for more books by this author .........

This is still incomplete which is very frustrating non the less a very exciting read. Could not wait to get back to it. I read the three one after the other so felt disappointed that there was no real conclusion. Well researched

Interesting but little confusing with the characters at times. Possibly because there were lo long ilntervals
In my reading this book. It certainly gathered momentum as the story progressed.
