I bought this book for a medical elective in Morocco. I found it quite comprehensive as a general glossary, though a lot of specific medical terms and abbreviations were missing, such as hemoculture for blood culture, NFS for FBC, liquide cephalo-rachidien for CSF etc., which would have been useful. I didn't end up using it much as I learned most of the terminology on the job, however, I did skim read through the whole book looking for any terms I didn't know.

I am not medically qualified and am therefore unable to judge the accuracy of the translations of the many medical terms contained within this glossary. However I have no doubt whatsoever that it has greatly facilitated the more accurate diagnosis of the complex medical condition of a close friend. The medical staff here in France have welcomed the book and it has also given the patient greater confidence in explaining symptoms. Naturally, accurate diagnosis and effective treatment ultimately depend upon the skill of the various medical disciplines, but I thoroughly recommend this publication as a tool for assisting all parties working towards the goal of improving medical care.

One or two more obscure conditions missing but generally a very comprehensive book. Well worth buying if you have not got a total command of the language, has helped us considerably.
