Having moved to France recently, with the purpose of establishing a garden, I found my french language skills were not up to the job when it came to talking about trees, plants and flowers, ordering them and requesting information etc.
This small book, which fits in the pocket perfectly, proved well worth the money. No nonsense, just did what it said on the cover. Nice appended lists at back of book relating to birds, butterflies and medicinal plants. Latin names included throughout for those who want to get technical.
Have bought this book as a present for other gardeners, French and English, and it has been well received. Perfect reading material for when you are sitting back surveying all your hard "Jardinage" over a glass of wine.

If you are living in France and enjoy gardening then you will find this book very helpful indeed. It's an all things gardening dictionary, really helpful when buying plants or equipment, treating pests or asking fellow gardeners for advice etc.

I found this rather disappointing as I was expecting a bigger guide to gardens and not just a glossary of garden terms. Its useful to have when visiting a nursery in France and needing to explain the correct names for certain shrubs etc however offers no assistance in garden planning in France.
