Format:Audio CD
Gil Scott Heron sits uniquely cross genres. His work is decidely poetic, but laced with the fervour of street-funk. He is all a singer-songwriter should be and more - a chilled Tom Waites, a dynamic Nick Drake - he presses emotional buttons, and intellectual ones too. His enduring message of colour equality and that the real failing of individuals is 'the human factor' will ever ring true. We defeat ourselves, is Gil's song, and it is wrapped in the most laid back, rhythmic way there is. And 'Glory' is truly the album to get if you want to access this distinct, informative and hip shifting world view. And, heck, is it hard to get hold of.

Format:Audio CD
If you are looking for a panoply of the great man's music, you have found it. This package contains nearly all of the important tracks by one of the world's most important musicians and poets. I recommend this (if you can find it), along with and `Spirits', as the basis of your Gil Scott-Heron music collection.
