I've been following this collection and loved the storyline but the conclusion is a little blahh....as it leaves the story kind of unfinished..Not a good ending for a great story!

I agree with the amazon.com reviews, after reading and collecting all the Gloomcookie volumes I have to say that this is the weakest both in terms of art and narrative, the ending is totally dissapointing and a total cop out. The first graphic novel is the best, they slowly go downhill and this is a terrible culmination. I won't spoil anything but it leaves you feeling that it was a rush to the finish and that all characterisation previously goes out of the window in favour of a neat ? ending ? Really, who cares about the irritating beyond belief moon raven and vermillion? Buy the other four and make up your own ending, you'll feel a lot less short changed.

I really really love this series of comics and it is such a shame it had to end
if you buy one series of goth comic buy this one the author is lovely and the different art in each graphic novel is amazing

A Complete Disappointment 1 Aug 2009
By Spoony C. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
As others have stated, this is a fantastic series. If you don't already own them, you can buy volumes 1-4 without hesitation; they are worth every penny. However, this volume absolutely does not measure up to the other four. The artwork in this one (different artists illustrated each volume) is comparatively poor, and the plot is rushed and disappointing. It gave me the impression that Valentino wanted to be done with the series, so just slapped something together with little resolution. In your face, readers! As a loyal fan of the series, I felt rather insulted; I should have spent $16 on something better.

Good, but could have been better 18 Aug 2007

This is a great series, but I (like the other reviewer) felt that it really lacked a great ending. For the most part, everything in this volume has an ending, although there are one or two parts that are left open (maybe for a sequel later on down the road?).

The biggest flaw I would say that it had, other than the fizzle ending, would be that at times the plot seemed a little disjointed & jumped from plot point to plot point. The pairings in this volume were forshadowed, but I would have liked there to be a bit more storytelling.

I love Gloom cookie. But this volume was a little dissapointing. The other books are much better. Volume 5 predomiantly fixates on Vermillion and Moon Raven. I was expecting more of a "bang" considering it was the last book. It was a quick read. I read it during work for about an hour to kill time. I'll keep it though, but i doubt i'll ever read it again. Like i said... quite dissapointing...

But i did enjoy the graphics. Sebastion looked awesomer than ever!
