Product Description

Product Description

GLOBAL tvLINK Magic Eye The Global tvLINK System allows the viewing of high quality Sky satellite, terrestrial and video pictures at a second location. With the added benefit of control, the tvLINK gives the viewer the sense of having a second Sky digibox. On a typical installation the Sky digibox is located in the living room with a second set being either in the kitchen or a bedroom. This means it is possible for the the main location to be watching one of the terrestrial channels, i.e BBC1, whilst the second location watches the Sky channels, i.e Sky Sports. The tvLINK picks up the remote control signal and sends it, via a coax cable back to the Sky digibox where it is decoded internally. This allows the tvLINK to be discreet and unobtrusive in operation

Delivery was within 24 hours of ordering - great speedy service from seller 'Buyme'. The Magic Eye has been set up and works great. There is some degradation in picture quality that occasionally affects viewing, but certainly not enough to spoil it. There are no issues with sound quality. I have not yet been able to fit the 'Global F140' amplifier, though this should resolve the minor picture degradation and further enhance viewing. It would have been very useful if the required F-plugs were packaged with the amplifier - still awaiting delivery of these from a different seller. I would definitely recommend this product and seller to a friend. Global F140 Sky compatible magic eye amplifier sky, HD

Once connected, the Magic Eye needs to be configured to use the power supply through the Sky box, and this can be quite tricky. This will need to be done quickly by selecting on 'Services' on the sky remote.

For older sky boxes: select in quick succession [services 4 0 1 select 4 select] and change the 'RF Outlet Power Supply' to 'ON'
For newer sky boxes (Sky+ HD): select [services 0 0 1 select 4 select] and change the 'RF Outlet Power Supply' to 'ON'

If installation is done correctly, a red light will be visible on the Magic Eye unit. If not, check all connectors to cable are fitted well, and tightened or loosened accordingly to fit on the Magic Eye/Sky Box securely. We had initially found the connector we'd used to the 'eye' was too loose, and on the Sky box it was so tight it would not go on properly. Adjusting this slightly resolved issues.

Great stuff! Does exactly what I wanted it to, I could watch TV in my bedroom before via a co-axial lead from the lounge TV but couldn't fast forward ads or pause etc. Came with no instructions though but after checking out forums online I had it working. Make sure your extra Sky remote is working on the 2nd TV (instructions and codes for brands in Sky manual). The magic eye fits at the end of the co-axial then into your extra TV. Also you need to make sure it comes from the main TV via the RF 2 output and that the RF power out is set to ON. On the Sky+ remote press services/0/0/1/select/4/ then scroll down to change the RF power out setting to ON. This should be done in quick succession. Hope this helps for anyone not technically minded like myself. Would have given it a 5 for speedy delivery and product but did take me some time to google the instructions.

I ordered it yesterday, it arrived this morning, it's heavier and better built than I imagined, works a treat, I'm very pleased with it.

Fantastic product! So cheap and easy to set up.
One thing though, you have to ensure that you have the correct cable to go in the back of the Sky box and into this device.

Used this in the same room as the sky box as we had positioned the sky box in a position that was not in direct line of sight from the viewing area and therefore remote control signals were not being picked up. Plugged straight into the back of the sky box, enabled RF outlet and positioned the eye to face the viewing area. Works perfectly.
