Book Description

9 Jan 2003 Global Issues
This fascinating exploration of secret service and intelligence agencies throughout the world details the new roles they have found for themselves as they target rogue states, terrorism, and the drug war. It shows how ultramodern technologies have increased their power to spy abroad and eavesdrop at home. It also exposes the unsolved contradiction between the world of these secretive, unaccountable agencies and the requirements of a free, democratic society.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read 15 April 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book is 230 pages long and filled with an up to date account of the current state of intelligence services around the world.

It explains the new role that secret services have found themselves in since 9/11 and discusses these organisations and how they operate on the fringes of the law in many cases.

Excellent stuff

5.0 out of 5 stars World's Intelligence 9 Sep 2010
Format:Paperback
This is a very interesting book. It tells the story about the Global Intelligence agencies since the ending of 'The Cold War'. But most of all - there are many links to the Internet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Other Books 3 Sep 2007
By Blue Tyson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book is basically an alphabet soup breakdown of the intelligence agencies around the world, with more emphasis on some of the more important ones, and actually a reasonably lengthy explanation and breakdown about what has gone on in South Africa, at least organisationally.
