4.0 out of 5 stars gold gold gold 28 Nov 2007
By Paul Tapner TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD
A spin off from sarah jane adventures, the spin off series from doctor who which involves his intrepid former companion battling aliens with the help of several children.

Rather than being a full cast audio play like a lot of doctor who audios, this is a talking book, with an original sarah jane story written especially for this, and read by elisabeth sladen. sarah jane herself.

It runs for seventy minutes, and is one long story with no episode breaks in the middle.

Elisabeth sladen is a very good person to do this kind of thing as she has a commanding and appealing voice which really gets your attention. Her attempts to do the voices of the other characters from the show are quite good.

The story involves sarah jane investigating humans being driven to steal gold, and uncovering a sinister alien plot as a result. It's nothing special, but it's a little better than average. all the characters are written well and get good moments and the plot is not that obvious from off, and will keep you interested to the end. And the villain of the piece has some convincing and well written moments.

A good little spin off, and now that the first season of the show has finished, you could do worse than listen to this in order to pass the time
