Product Description

Product Description

Responsible for reconditioning used androids for resale, Marguerite unexpectedly finds herself shepherd over Gabriel, a synthetic who’s suffered a lifetime of experimental abuse at the hands of a sadistic owner. Now she must address his psychological damage as well, a task made no easier by the looming threat that his abuser may want him back.

Thematic precursor to Nicole Lombardi's novella The Golden Hour, Glitch takes place in a parallel universe where artificial intelligence is commonplace. The story opens a window between general fiction and science fiction, allowing even the uninitiated a soft entry to a more technically, if not more socially advanced world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Needs a sequel 8 Mar 2014

Read this on the train and was disappointed that I finished it on the one journey. A sequel to this would be great as there is a lot more story to tell.

4.0 out of 5 stars Involving short story with an interesting premise. 2 Jun 2013

This short story sucked me in and I ended up reading it immediately.

Well written with an interesting storyline, characters, and story world (the author might want to consider a novel-length story set in this world.)

Definitely worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Asimov-ian Fiction 9 Feb 2014
By Bob - Published on Amazon.com

Nice little short story about an abused android. Very satisfying read. Thought provoking touchy-feely with a bite. Ended exactly the way I thought it would (and wanted it to) but in no way let me down. Think "I, Robot," not the movie with Will Smith but the original short story by the great Isaac A.

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfying read 10 Feb 2014

I enjoyed this little novella immensely! I felt connected to each of the three distinct the characters even in the short amount of time given to get to know them. I was very sad when it ended because I enjoyed them so much. Very much in the vein of Asimov. Did him justice. Kudos to the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glitch. Not your fathers android story. 14 May 2014

Ms. Lombardi has done it again. In Glitch, she takes an old, tired theme and breathes new life into it. I can honestly say that I've never read an AI story quite like this one. Any further description would just be spoilers, so I won't ruin it for you. I can't wait to see what she comes out with next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely well written 16 April 2014

I read this in one sitting, even though it was past bedtime. I just couldn't quit. It is written extremely well and pulls you in almost immediately. The characters are incredible, the situation believable (even though it's about androids), and the plot development is terrific. Thoroughly recommended for everyone, even if you are not a SciFi/Fantasy fan. The sentiments are universal.
