Magical musings... 6 Jan 2006
Format:Audio CD
This wonderful rerelease combines the album "A Glint At The Kindling" with the "Five Bardic Mysteries", in superb sound quality.
If you have any interest in Robin Williamson's solo work or in his Celtic story-telling then this is the ideal place to start, combining (probably) the best collection of his solo songs, with the lovely fireside atmosphere of the Bardic mysteries.
It's an album which I never tire of listening to and can wholeheartedly recommended to any listener interested in hearing some beautifully played folk music and wonderful stories from the finest traditional story teller these islands have to offer...magical indeed!

A superb recording that confirms Robin as a purveyor of magical and stirring music. There is nothing quite like the spoken word for conjuring up images and times long forgotten by most of us. Put this together with some fine playing and you have something quite extaordinary.Reveals the lost magic that has been beaten out of us since we were young.Suitable for any age, uplifting and awakens something deep within you. Marvellous and inspiring!

This happens to be.. 25 Oct 2007
Format:Audio CD
Well this happens to be one of my favourite albums!Less eclectic than much of Robin's earler works, it is nevertheless still full of nice surprises, imaginative composition and slightly off-kilter lyrics. Many of the songs conjure vivid images of the countryside and the instrumental parts are well..'merry' !There are one or two weaker tracks, but most of the album is an absolute delight.
