Product Description

"50cl / 50.0% - Under the new ownership of Glenglassaugh, the future looks very promising. They released this new make to give us some idea of what kind of quality to expect in the future from the distillery (whisky has to be aged for 3 years, any less and it's not technically whisky, instead it's called ""new make"" or ""malt spirit"")."

Bought as a curiosity and on the basis of being in 101 Whiskies to Try Before You Die. It is an interesting strong taste, and has to be tried at least once, as this is supposedly apparently what our great grandparents considered whisky back in the day. It's a good thing this is not in a full 75 cl bottle, though. I couldn't see this being a tipple of choice for anyone.

After a couple goes of having it straight, I now resort to using it to blend with the odd leftover bits at the bottom of other whisky bottles. Which is a bit of fun to see what you can come up with.

Oh my dear lord. Sitting in the office with a team of whisky drinkers - and this was a stinker. It's closer to tequila and perhaps closer again to white spirit. Maybe not one to give as a gift.

Wow, tried this on it's own and loved it, then added ice and took it from there. I now substitute it for whisky in all my favourite whisky cocktails and it is much better as it doesn't have that overpowering whisky influence.
