Book Description

In the second installment of the Glen & Tyler series, the guys find out what happens when you inherit a Scottish castle, tussle with international crime gangs and host formal balls. Yes, balls -- with dancing and everything!

In typical Hardy Boys--er, Glen & Tyler fashion, there are secret passages, irascible old men, caves, missing treasure, fine liquor and kilts. Ok, the kilts thing is new -- but believe me, you’ll like ‘em. Although there isn’t much hockey this time around, there is shinty*. There’s also some romantic anniversary thing, but really, stay for the shinty.

* For those readers unfamiliar with the ancient sport of shinty, think hockey played on a field, without protective gear and with a solid rugby sensibility. Or a riot with sticks and a score keeper.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hijinks in the Scottish Highlands 20 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
At just 3% into this book, I was intrigued. A bunch of Russian dudes, with most definitely dastardly intentions, a shell game involving fishing trawlers and a mention of the Irish Sea. Despite some of these things not making another appearance for some time in the story, I was in.

After that intro, we’re right into being with Glen and Tyler, our main guys. I was smiling immediately. Yup! Also? I was already sure I was going to be reading more from this author, and this series specifically. Yup! This has a wonderfully flowing, intelligent style and varying tones that fit each scene. That’s not always easy to do.

Since this is book two in the series, Glen and Tyler are in a place in their relationship that demonstrates the knowledge they’ve gained since becoming a couple, while still learning things about each other. I haven’t read book 1 (but will!) and yet didn’t feel like my reading experience was compromised. Based on some of the conversations, however, I’m willing to venture a guess that, if you do read these in order, they’ll be that much more enjoyable.

Fun! I can’t seem to get away from that word when I think about this story, the characters, the settings, which are all very well described. I can picture the grey, sparkling sea, the great hall, the airships (they must be a ‘thing’ in books recently) and all of the other locations. I can hear the characters’ voices, emphasis and attitude are well placed. For as many supporting characters as there are, they’re all memorable. When I think of the guys’ friends/bodyguards, the fishermen, Mary, Effie, and even the ones who don’t appear until later in the story, they all make me smile. Or sneer. Or guffaw.

Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!

Sequels always suck... But ( and i cant believe I'm typing this!) this one is almst better than the first.
Tyler is super smart guy and glen is his sometimes- mistaken-as-his-bodyguard boyfriend and together they combat nazis and whatnot...
Of course there's a whole lot of millions to be spent too...

I'm gonna put off reading the next one until JB SANDERS writes the 4th one. Pls dont disappoint me

Well now I have read the second book I feel sad because I can't find anything else to read of this calibre - gay love, a little sex and a lot of adventure oh and throw in a few billion dollars inheritance and what they do with it.

Its a great read as ever - just how long do I have to wait for the next one?Glen & Tyler's Scottish Troubles

4.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious read. A review @ Readers' Muse 26 Nov. 2013

This is the second book in the Glen & Tyler series. Given that I liked the first book & I was sure the writer wouldn't exactly make me squirm by describing explicit details of a gay relationship, I decided to read this book too. Also the book back summary made the book so appealing.
“In the second installment of the Glen & Tyler series, the guys find out what happens when you inherit a Scottish castle, tussle with international crime gangs and host formal balls. Scottish castle?! Missing treasure?! Formal balls where Glen & Tyler “dance”?! Should be fun right?! Yeah it was! I had a good laugh reading it. May be not just the laughter, a good bit of suspense too made me take an instant liking of this series.

Again, it’s a rather simple & ordinary theme woven into an extraordinary story with ample suspense, twists and a bit of romance (Normal sane type not the squirming kind).
An insanely rich “married” man with super-spy grandparents do tends to get into all sorts of troubles. And that's exactly what happens with Tyler. First, He inherits a Scottish castle among all the other things only to find out the whole village is being “ruled” by a sod tyrant. What does a “hero” do in such situations? He descends to resolve that “situation”. That's exactly what Glen & Tyler do. As to how they do it is the real story (thanks to an unlimited supply of vintage wine and some high octane drama)

The most comical part of the story is when Glen decides to hit college to complete is PhD where they meet another “insanely rich but oh-I-so-cool” prince.
Things take a rather serious turn when Glen solves that puzzle which they find while scouting the castle.

Yet again, the writer, J.B.Sanders has done a good job of turning an ordinary plot line into a brilliant story. I really don't know if it was just me or the book is intended to be comical

VERDICT: Definitely go for it. A humorous and racy book

5.0 out of 5 stars The Boys are Back! 23 Aug. 2012

And just as entertaining as the first time around! Speaking of which, forget what I said in my review of the first book about it needing to be made into a movie. There's way too much good stuff to be limited to a couple of hours. This needs to be a mini-series! The second book holds up very well; more witty dialogue, suspense and surprise twists, and characters so well developed they feel like friends. Can't wait for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun to read 22 Jun. 2014

It is a easy book to read. I like a book that has a happy ending, the good guys beat the bad guys completely, light hearted but strong romantic connection between the heroes, a little mystery, and a little action.
This book has them all.
I also have the audio book, in fact, I have all three titles in the series, and the narration is pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars G&T's Scottish Troubles, audio edition 12 May 2014
By Voracious Reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Multi-billionaires Glen Merriwether and Tyler Conrad return in the follow-up to Glen and Tyler's Honeymoon Adventure. In Glen and Tyler's Scottish Troubles, J. B. Sanders once again delivers a unique, witty, imaginative and fanciful novel packed with a castle, air ships, Russian smugglers, underwater submarine caves, gorgeous male bodyguards, Scotch whisky, lavish balls (we're talking big parties here), kilts sans bagpipes (must've been overlooked) and no panties (not overlooked), love, romance and a clever plot. Given all of that, it would certainly be a magical mystery tour spending an hour inside Mr. Sanders' head. (Wow man...kowabunga!) Glen and Tyler are well-developed, colorful characters who will utterly captivate you, and the author pulls this off without a single "on stage" love scene. For an M/M novel, that's quite an accomplishment. We also see Tyler becoming as comfortable as Glen with their same-sex marriage, and "being out" about it.

Brian Rollins is absolutely brilliant in his delivery of both male and female Scottish burrs, as well as British and Russian accents. He's also the perfect voice of both Tyler and Glen. It seems his range is limitless; he can convincingly pull-off the voices of professors, Texans, butch bodyguards, effeminate boys, and women. Brian Rollins is a definite up-and-coming narrator who's a joy to hear.

Glen and Tyler's Scottish Troubles comes highly recommended -particularly in the audio format.
