I purchased this blu-ray as a Christmas present and we were looking forward to a live Glee concert. Instead we were assaulted to a series of songs which appear to be shown out of order (spot some of the costume changes and see what you think), with the most irritating / distracting talking head clips from fans shoe horned inbetween. It also seems some of the performances when performed live had little sketch introductions which have been removed for the purposes of the movie presentation. A few remain as extras on the blu-ray hinting at what might have been.

What happened to the concert we were promised? The performances we do get are really good. They hint at a fantastic live concert. However bad editing from the actual performance to images of the screaming crowd, and fans talking about their favourite character and how Glee changed their lives, was very distracting. Ultimately these moments were fast forwarded through or we skipped to the next chapter anyway to get back to the concert.

Sue Sylvester's introductions to the performances are brilliant but unbelievably are now nothing more than a blu-ray extra when they are clearly the opening to the concert and introductions to some of the other performances such as the Warblers.

We were horrified when one of the Warblers songs was cut short by a child dancing in his living room in front of his TV playing the song from the actual episode, before switching to the actual live performance, at least a few lines into the song. We didn't buy a concert Blu-ray to watch a child dancing in front of his TV!

The truly cheesy, pass a sick bucket, "life stories" should have been extras as should the back stage scenes.

Ill keep this short.

I actually took my niece to see these guys in concert the day they filmed this and i can tell you absolutely it was one of the best concerts i have ever seen.

Now bear in mind that im a bit of a rock chick and go to donnington park and leeds almost every year that has to tell you something.

My nieces face when she realised where we were on the day was priceless as i didnt tell her where we were going, and i have never seen a kid so excited in my life.

The concert was fantastic, i was happily singing and dancing along with everyone else, and im sure all the little added faux documentary additions will be fab as well.

If you didnt get a chance to go earlier in the year and your little girl/boy is a gleek they will love this.

Perfect christmas pressie for Gleeks everywhere !!

Didn't see the film at the cinema or the live concert so this was a first look.

I really enjoyed the film BUT why isn't the full concert released? I presume another Blu Ray/DVD will appear in the fullness of time to get you to buy it again.

Singing quality is awesome for a live concert - sounded like studio quality but I couldn't see evidence of lipsync and a number of singers threw in extra comments to audience members. Shows just how talented they are! Dancing is also excellent - though often you can't see much of it because the cameras focus on the singers more.

The running time for the film is list as about 1 hour 23 minutes but a large chunk of the film is fans chatting, backstage gossip and nonsense - not to say I didn't think those parts added to the film and were worthwhile in themselves (a couple of really moving and inspiration stories) but it cuts down the amount of music. I haven't measured it but I'd guess there is no more than 45-50 minutes of music.

The editing means that it is obvious that large chunks of the concert are simply cut out and many of the songs that are there are abridged (there are two extra copies of songs in the full performance version) which is a little sad.

For this issue - there are two disks in the pack. The Blu Ray constains the standard and 3D editions of the film (can't comment on the 3D because my TV doesn't support it) but the picture and sound quality of the standard Blu Ray version are very good. As for the CD there is a lot of audience noise but as you can seem them it is less intrusive and you do feel you are at a very lively concert. The drawback of the BR having both versions is that the majority of the extras are not present on the BR disk.

I was really looking forward to viewing this in 3D (having missed the opportunity to see Glee live in the UK). Unfortunately, the 3D was fairly insignificant. Enjoyed it better in 2D. The concert looks great though!

It was Glee live in concert but they spent more than half the thing by my reckoning just with the camera men talking to the attendees and doing back stories on random peoples lives. I DONT CARE, I wanted to see a Glee concert not a daytime talk show, where was the music. My entire family was rather disappointed, put all that in the extras so that anyone who cares can go and watch it. They even showed a few extra bits which made it look like there was some interesting stuff going on on-stage with the characters but they cut that for some sob story. Oh and the rapid movements of the Warblers made the 3D a bit jerky on the projector. Whether it would be better on my screen I am not sure.
