This is a poor quality pirate bootleg that is not worth spening your money on. The digitally remastered Glastonbury Fayre film with bonus extras on is due out this October. Although it doesn't contain the 2CD soundtrack it is a proper digital transfer and not somebody making a quick buck on a cheap third generation video to video copy. Keep your eyes peeled on Amazon for the real product and save your hard earned money.

The inner packaging consists of three stiff card sleeves which do not hold the discs during transit, as a result the discs arrived badly scratched.

The DVD quality is awful, it appears to have been taken from a second or third generation VHS tape. I sent my copy back to Amazon who refunded me.
Many 2cd/dvd sets are issued for £20 or less, £40 for something of such poor quality is disgraceful. I gave it 1 star as the system does,nt allow for less.

This should have been a 5 star rated package but some niggles put paid to that idea. The package is a full sized boxed set <the size of an L.P Boxed set>but the 2 CDs and the DVD were housed in horrendous stiff cardboard sleeves with no protective inners, easy then to cover your prized discs in scratches.I had hoped for something more suitable.

I had hoped for the material to have been lifted from the master tapes but they were clearly lifted from a vinyl source complete with snap, crackle and some pops <listen to Bowie's Supermen>.

The DVD looks like a dub from an old VHS tape and the picture quality is not dissimilar to those dodgy copies of tapes that were made over 20 years ago.The artwork and enclosures are pretty good representations of the original material though.

I bought this because I wanted the original Glastonbury Fayre LP. On that basis the box and the two CDS are pretty good. The package includes the booklet that originally came with the LPs and good quality reproductions of artwork from the original fold out poster. You do not get all the inserts . There was an early 90s CD boot that duplicated all the inserts in miniature (the silver pyramid model and other bits) but the CD quality was awful as it was not de-noised as it is here. The box is very well made and the CD sleeves are no worse than some major label product I have in my collection. Yes the album is a bootleg but this album will never be officially reissued as the music was gifted at the time to help pay for the festival. There was no contract that allowed long term exploitation and the whole thing was of the moment. Now the business managers of some of the artists involved and the various copyright holders (major labels) would never agree to this compilation even if they thought of doing it! For that reason this is the best you are ever going to get unless you buy an original. I have an original and the sound quality here is fine (plus all the scratches are removed) The DVD enclosed is awful quality taken from a crappy VHS cassette ...which lets the whole thing down. This can be easily rectified though. Just buy the official DVD and stick that in this box set and you have an excellent all in one package. A document of a time that will never come again when the music was more important than the business and spirituality and social revolution were alive and well as forces in popular music and culture! What went wrong ? NOTE : This album is not the soundtrack to the film. None of the music here appears in the film.Read more ›
