Review

* Glasgow Girls is likely to remain the last word on Glaswegian Art Nouveau for many years to come - the standard reference book on Glaswegian women artists of the period, The Sunday Times * "The Book is a substantial, beautifully illustrated and fascinating document which does justice to its subject and will, one hopes, make it impossible for future curators and historians to ignore the obvious" The Scotsman * The wealth of work shown here is remarkable The Artist * ...A brilliant book...which brings together for the first time original research by twenty scholars from Britain and North America Arts Review

As a Glaswegian and supposed lover of art I am ashamed to say my knowledge of the Glasgow Girls was minimal at best. Unfortunately, I am not alone in this. Once again brilliant female artists are ignored while their menfolk garner all the plaudits and the reputations. This truly delightful book should be in the vanguard rectifying this ludicrous situation. It ought to be in every art department in the country as an introduction to these wonderful artists. Any teaching of art in general, and the art-nouveau movement in particular, which ignores them is truly guilty of criminal neglect. 5 stars?..it deserves 10!

This is a beautiful book to have on my shelf, and often enjoyed for all the beautiful art work produced by women in the art nouveau period...it is quite exquisite in content both visual and written. I treasure this master piece. If you love Charles Rennie MacKintosh - then be prepared to blow him out of the water....wonderful

I was doing research into Margaert Mackdonald Mackintosh and found articles in this book that were really informative. There are many 'girls' in the book that I had not come across before and their work was exceptional especially for the time. The book is full of excellent illustrations - loads in colour.
