This story is basically just a few days and nights in the life of a couple but it`s so well written that you feel like you`re getting more.
The narrator`s boyfriend has three special wishes for his birthday and puts them down on paper for her. She is surprised but also intrigued and decides to fulfill his birthday wishes. Since he wants to be surprised (every birthday boy wants that, right?), she does just that - surprises him. I just loved how he slowly found out that his wishes were being granted because the narrator called him Oliver instead of the usual Ollie. The description of how he slowly realizes was very clever.
Oliver/Ollie is described as a nerd but very hot underneath his awful clothes and the glasses he picked from the "forever single box at Specsavers" (that description had me laughing out loudly). The narrator does not describe herself as much but we understand that this couple is like any couple next door - which makes this an all the more interesting read.
This is a fairly short story but I loved how different it was from all the "I`m a member of a secret BDSM club and can swing a whip like nobody`s business" books. This is an ordinary couple who decide to experiment a little bit (well, a little more than a little bit at the end but still) and that makes the book stand out. I also loved the humor in it. It`s not often you get to both laugh and pant while reading.
