Product Description

Review

'Addicts of 'The Leopard' will lap up this limpid translation and these superb photographs. Another imaginative triumph by Alma Books.' -- A.N. Wilson

'A Biography through Images is a compendium work, draped around a series of gorgeous photographs and reproductions of portraits, and containing a great deal of invaluable critical as well as biographical material... Lanza Tomasi is a shrew biographer and an insightful chronicler of the flourishing and decay of the culture depicted by Lampedusa in his great novel.' --Times Literary Supplement

If you enjoyed The Leopard you will enjoy this tribute tremendously. Written with true affection by Lampedusa's adopted son, it is sometimes surprising to see that the bridge between the world of the Risorgimento reflected in the Leopard and our own contemporary times is not that long
