To be fair, Girlschool should have half a dozen or more DVD's to their name by now. They are the classic female hard-rock band, and their longevity is a credit to them. This release, from 22 years ago and filmed for a TV series, captures the band several line-ups ago, and it is for this reason the release makes for a great chapter in their history. The photography is excellent as are the selection of tracks from across the Girl's back catalogue to the then present day. Plainly, they are enjoying the show, as are the crowd, and this comes across all through, there never being a dull moment. At a running time of just 59 minutes, with extras on offer these days being almost the norm for DVD release, it'd would've been a nice touch to have added some interview material from the current line-up reflecting upon this gig and its long-time-coming release. Nevetheless, the DVD stands testament to the band, who are still out there today treading the boards and dishing up their high-octane-fuelled brand of all-girl rock 'n' roll. Top-notch, indeed, but they deserve much more than this.
