Artwork is still great but it has stopped being believable. Characters just keep doing stupid things all the time. I keep saying to myself "surely they wouldn't do that"
There are still some good moments and humour but this is a bit of a letdown.

The tension builds 18 Jun. 2013

If you haven't read 1 and 2, you won't appreciate this as much - plus, 1 and 2 are good reads in themselves.

The twilight zone story ratchets up the tension in a very satisfying way. The town, isolated by that mysterious force-field, degenerates into mob rule, but maybe not with the rulers you'd expect. The Girls continue to multiply, in that one and only way they can, continue to attack the women of the town, and continue to feed them to that "thing". BTW, the Girls' viciousness really builds, too - like when they kill that bear with their teeth and bare hands. (Bare hands shouldn't be a surprise since they're bare all over.) Even the townsfolk's slim illusion of safe haven fails them in the last pages, only adding to the cliff-hanger ending.

Artwork is capable and carries the story, but isn't why you'll come back to this. The above-average play of personalities, panic, and surreal threat make this one. I can't wait to see #4.

4/5, would read again 4 July 2014

The story and everything about the comic was great in itself. However; when I got the books, books 2 and 3's spine glue was weak or nonexistent. So halfway through reading the book, the spine fell off, leaving me with just the pages all glued together, barely, and slowly separating as well. The 4th book I got was as good as the 1st book at face value. The spine glue was thick and visible, the book didn't seem to present any problems till about half way through. I found a huge rip in the pages, only one page, but it cut through almost all the dialog on both paths, distorted the images of the characters and just felt like a bit of a downer to lose so much build in the story over this issue with how the book was probably handled.

I would recommend this story to anyone that likes the Walking Dead for the art style and writing felt very similar and the pacing felt on track with great rewards.

Girls 3 14 Dec. 2006

Format: Paperback
The third of four installments.

Nails are running short and people are getting desperate and very moody. In survival the people left of pennystown are beginning to take a closer look at their problems and start preparing though things just keep falling apart. An eerie conclusion is comeing.

-Just as good as the rest, looking forward to volume 4.
