Amazon Review

Jacqueline Wilson never fails to please and her legions of fans clamour for just the slightest hint of a new book from their favourite author. This time Ellie, Magda and Nadine, teen heroines of Girls Under Pressure and Girls in Love, are back again in Girls out Late, growing up (and out!), getting to grips with their parents, their boys and their bodies as the roller-coaster from childhood into adulthood speeds up and hots up.

Ellie--plain, plump, with frizzy hair, not drop-dead gorgeous like Magda or supercool like Nadine--meets the man of her dreams over a burger and a sketch book and immediately finds that her father's instructions to be home by 9.00pm at the very latest have fallen through her hormone-addled sieve of a brain. She would much rather be snogging with Russell, but what will he think of her if she admits she has to be home at such a ridiculously early hour? But the real problems arise when Ellie and her buddies take a trip to London to see their favourite singer in action and they find themselves caught up with a van-load of dodgy blokes who have more than dancing in mind.

As sparky and true-to-life as ever, Wilson takes the bull by the horns and tackles teenage dilemmas with a reverence and wit that will doubtless continue to turn heads long into the future. Realism--not necessarily the gritty kind, but more the everyday-worrisome kind--plays a huge part in the authors work, not least in this tremendous series where she deals sensitively with the onset of the teenage years with a warmth, understanding and humour that cuts to the bone while at the same time provoking laughter at the sheer madness of it all.

An excellent book for older readers, great if read as part of the series, but undoubtedly not to be missed if it's the first Jacqueline Wilson book you have ever bought. It certainly won't be the last. (Age 11 and over) --Susan Harrison --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

Review

"The portrayal of the girls' relationships and of their love lives is agonisingly accurate. No wonder girls cannot get enough of Jacqueline Wilson" (The Good Book Guide)

"Bursting with a thirteen-year-old's delight in hanging out with her friends and taking on the world" (The Times)

"A surefire bestseller for everyone" (The Bookseller)

"Far more believable and emotionally valid than other fiction of its ilk" (The Scotsman)

Girls out late is the best book I've read.It inspires me the way Jaqueline Wilson writes about girls going through the same stage. She writes things that you think you'd never experience but maybe one day you will. Its all about how this girl called Ellie meets a boy who actually likes her and it gos on as she hqs to choose between her friends or boyfriend on 'going out' wise. Jaqueline Wilson writes like she is a girl going through this and I reckon any girl teenage or not would enjoy this.I recommend this tops because I think it will inspire anyone who reads this and Jaqueline Wilson will be a girlshero in fave authors.Read this and find out how Ellie gets on with this boy??? and how she goes on a wild night out.

This book is changing every minute. Ellie finds a boy but will her dad clamp down? Nadine tells a girl about how Liam is a creep but is it to late? Madga tells her art teacher her feelings but how does he react? The girls find them selves in a lot of trouble and it is up to Ellie to save them. This book has a lot of tips to life for 11 to 14 year olds. The girls are back and the lies just got bigger...

I really enjoyed this book. I am eleven years old I think I maybe should have waited another year or two until I actually read it because some bits of the book are maybe ever so slightly inappropriate. On the back of the book it says 'FOR TEENAGE READERS' and I completely agree. That was really my only problem. Other than that, the book was a real page-turner. I enjoyed it quite a lot.

Best book I have ever read. I advise this book for kids aged 11+.The best part was the ending were Ellie and Russell confessed their love to each other. You got to read this book if you are a Jacqueline Wilson fan.

This book is one off the best books although it could have been longer. I suggest this book should be for people age 12-16. I am 12 and I think the book was suitable for my age and older.

Ellie's best mates Nadine and Magda always get the attention from all the boys. One day in McDonald's Ellie turns round and finds a guy sketching her so she started sketching him and he came over and before you know it they were havin' a juicy snog in the park. Sounds great but Ellie's dad isn't pleased when she comes home at 11:20 when her kurfew is 9pm. Ellie gets close to Russell but can't decide whether to go to a concert with her best mates are a school dance with her boyfriend. She goes with Nadine and Magda but it wasn't such a good idea they get picked up by a gang of druggies when they find out the concert is cancelled but luckily they manage to escape but will she be able to continue smooching with Russell in the park. What if he finds out she wears tissue paper in her bra???? Buy it buy it buy it!!

It took me two days to read because I could not get my nose out of it.I took it to school with me and read it in all my spare time.I have read all three books and I think this is most definatly one of Jacqueline Wilson's best books. I am ten years old and It is every thing I want to read about. It's real life.Three mischevious girls staying out later than they should be.I like the way Jacqueline writes about Ellie (one of the main three girls)has a real life problem that lots of girls all over the world suffer from.Thinking they're fat! I recommend this book strongly for 10-15 year olds.It really is AMAZING!
