Since forming in 2000 at the Royal College of Music, 4 Girls 4 Harps have gone from strength to strength, creating and commissioning new music for harp quartet. However much music you've heard, it's a fair bet that you've never heard four harps imitating an elephant. This is a unique CD, full of fun as well as beautiful music. Perhaps the most outstanding piece is Edward Longstaff's Saraswati, written for the group and inspired by the multi-armed Hindu goddess, but there are many other delights to be found.

I really enjoyed listening to this CD - it has real variety of music on it and I love the Impressionist pieces (especially the Ravel). I never thought that four harps would sound like this and really hope that the CD gets played on radio stations as it is something a bit different.
The production on this album is very good. In terms of the individual pieces of music it has a nice balance. As is the case with all harp music it can only be appreciated when there is no background noise.
