More About the Author

Kimberly Lang isn't one of those people who always knew she wanted to be a writer. She actually wanted to be a ballerina, but puberty failed to deliver the required swan-like elegance. That dream scuttled, she went on to get her Master's Degree in English - and she has the bartending skills to prove it. At her husband's insistence, she quit teaching in 2007 to write full-time, and in May 2008, sold her first book to Harlequin's London office. That book, The Secret Mistress Arrangement, debuted at number nine on the Borders Series Bestseller list and won the 2009 National Readers' Choice Award for Best First Book.

Since then, Kimberly's books have appeared on the USA Today, Amazon, Borders, and Bookscan bestseller lists, and have been translated into more than a dozen languages. (And, yes, that's really cool.)

She's married to her college sweetheart, whom she affectionately (but appropriately) calls her Darling Geek, and is Mom to the most brilliant and beautiful child on the planet (aptly nicknamed Amazing Child). She started taking yoga-based fitness because she eats way too many jelly beans while writing, and became an instructor once she figured out that spending time with her butt over her head helped spark her creativity. More than one sticky plot point has been solved in the Down Dog position. She has no hobbies because she doesn't have time, but if she did, they'd include knitting, skiing and ballroom dancing, because they sound like they might be fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Escaping to the Ex 11 Feb 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Seven years after her divorce, Megan Lowe can confidently say she's moved on. She went back to school, qualified as a marriage therapist and now she's just months away from getting her license. Except her divorce isn't quite as far behind her as she'd like to think.

How can it be when her ex - Devin Kenney - is now the most famous divorce attorney in the country? First there was the unexpectedly successful radio show, and now there's a best-selling book. Soon everybody wants to know all about the marriage that turned this gorgeous guy so bitter. Mostly Megan can ignore the intrusion of the press in her everyday life, but she knows she's in trouble when they start pestering her clients. When her boss suggests she takes time off to let things cool down, Megan sees red.

But nothing can prepare either Megan or Devin for the shock of seeing each other again. Soon keeping away from her life-shattering ex is the last thing Megan wants to do. And it seems letting go isn't high on Devin's agenda either...

Bright, fast-paced and sassy, this book has all the best bits of M&B's new Riva line. Megan's an ordinary girl, with money problems and anxiety issues, who's worked hard to gain her independence. Devin is gorgeous and successful, but still deeply hurt by what happened between them. Yet when they're together all she reminds him of is all he wanted to be and achieve before things went wrong.

And that's where this story wins for me - great, well-rounded characters with very human faults. Sure, the situation has its glamorous problems, but the emotions and consequences are familiar. A short read, but far from shallow, this is a great story about mistakes, second chances, growing up, changing and the price of success. I'll be looking out for more from Kimberly Lang.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read, even though a little predictable 25 Jan 2011

Really good book! I particularly liked this book as it isnt your common (boring) chick flick. great thing about this book is that it is rather short and doesnt drag anything out, as a lot of books tend to. It begins with Megan seeing her ex husband after 7 years apart and the story races around both of them, how they react in eachothers presences. Sounds depressing but it really isnt; Kimberly Lang is in line with writers such as Sophie Kinsella (shopahollic series)/Helen Fielding (bridget jones) and should be better recognised!

Girls' Guide to Flirting With Danger by USA Today Best-selling author, Kimberly Lang was an amazing reunion romance. It was a strong ardent romantic story with a shared past and now they were divorced. Consider this...... her ex-husband was a Divorce attorney, radio talk show host and the best-selling author Devin Kenney. Moreover, Megan Lowe was a marriage counselor with an axe to grind because Devin had published a book which was giving Megan all sorts of bad press and she wanted it stopped because she stood to loose her internship at the clinic where's she was working. She needed to get in hours before she took her boards, plus the research that she had to do.

Talk about one big mess. Dr. Weiss the owner of the clinic was furious. People were calling their clients due to the book and she had no choice but to ask Megan to take some time off until it all died down. Megan was furious with Devin, so she went to his book signing and pitched a fit. Devin was curious about what brought Megan here after seven years. They had married young and Megan was shy and immature. After Devin went to law school, he wanted them to move to Chicago. However, she had put her own career on hold for him and decided she had enough. She left him, moved to Albany to attend college, and left Devin without looking back. Now they both resided in Chicago and she had research papers to write and then take her boards. If this media attention brought it all to an end, she was not going down without a fight. He felt bad for her yet he remembered how she had walked out on him but he did feel bad about all of the media attention.

Devin left on a business trip but not before his producer called Megan with an idea to get rid of all of the attention. She suggested Megan appear on Devin's talk show.
