Back in the spring, Girls Aloud toured some of the country's biggest venues. I was at their Manchester concert and am delighted that a DVD is being released of what was a truly fabulous night's entertainment. The concert showcased the third (and best) album, 'Chemistry', but there was time for some old favourites, too, and one or two real surprises (keep an eye out for their cover of 'I Predict A Riot', which went down a storm on the night).
The concert was a rollercoaster from start to finish, with the girls clearly enjoying themselves as much as the audience. Pure pop music like this is very rare these days and no-one comes close to Girls Aloud in this respect. I just hope they stay together for a while because British pop music will be a very poor place without them. I wonder how many critics who predicted back in December 2002 that they would be forgotten three months later have been left eating their words?
