TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY,
By
This review is from: Girl Tech Password Journal 4 (Toy)
My two daughters ages 7 and 8 both had this for xmas. From the start when trying to put in data we found ourselves repeating ourselves as the voice control kept asking the same old question and didn,t seem to understand what we were saying. These have an rrp of £[...] each and to be honest are well over priced. Fortunately I,ve managed to take them back from where I brought them for a full refund.

Poor voice recognition,

This was a Christmas present for our daughter and it was quickly resigned to the pile of toys that are unlikely to ever see the light again. The main problem is that the voice recognition software has been extremely poorly implemented. It doesn't matter how clearly you pronounce a word, it fails to recognise it more often than not. For example, you attempt to set the date... "Change Date" you say - it responds "Say again". You repeat - it turns on the light! Eventually, when you get into the right part of the program to change the date, it struggles to understand "six" when saying the digits of the year. When we move into 2007, it might be okay, although I doubt it as my little girl would have lost the will to play with it by then. Perhaps it works better if you pronounce everything with an American twang - it certainly struggles with our English.

I brought this for my Daughters Birthday, something she was really looking forward to recieving. What an absolute waste of money. It does not work! No matter how many times you say the password, the damn thing will not open. It seems not to regognise anything, even the time, date etc. We were forever resetting it and always needed to put a screwdriver to it. If you were looking for this as a Christmas pressent then don't bother. Buy something that will not make your child cry in frustration....
