I have been following the online updates of Girl Genius for the last years. This is the latest printed book with those and I am happy to see that the authors manage to get always a new (and incredible) twist to each page.

The story continues and you will not be disappointed. Fantastic storyline, great drawings, vibrant colours and plenty of punchlines. Highly recommended.

Adventure, humor, scheming, fighting, even a little love 31 Aug. 2012
By Liam - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Disclaimer: I am a long time fan of this series and the authors and artists involved.

Where else can you get cajoled by a castle? Find friendly banter about the destruction of the world? Watch as two war-mongerers scuffle (mostly verbally) over the love interest - a woman who is smarter, more creative, and arguably more important than either of them?

The one challenge I had is that this book skips between, at times, about 10 different locations/scenes/set of characters! They manage it pretty well, but there is so much going on in this book (including the start of a civil war) that I had to re-orient myself a couple times 8)

Agatha does it again! 22 Aug. 2012

You owe it to yourself to own the books. Why? so you can read them over and over! Only downfall with this ideal, is, some of the older books bindings aren't equal to the task of 'mass reading' Oh, well. Buy another one! GET IT NOW!

Wonderful Story 26 Oct. 2012
By ZooGal - Published on Amazon.com

This is part of an ongoing series that is available for free online, but the story is so interesting and the artwork is so beautiful that I cannot help but to keep buying this series whenever the newest edition comes out to print. I am a total fangirl of this series so my opinion is very biased. The book comes with a brief synopsis so you won't be lost, but I'd recommend that if you are interested to go to the Girl Genius site and read the whole story.

The book itself arrived on time and in excellent condition. There are no issues in regards to the quality.
A bit scattered but still really fun steampunk graphic novel 25 Jan. 2015
By Karissa Eckert - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is the 11th book in the Girl Genius series. This was a great installment in the series but it wasn’t quite as funny and put together as previous books in the series have been. We jump around a lot between different characters.

Agatha is at the heart of the castle and is trying to reset it with the last dying fragment she has. Her friends are in a different part of the castle trying to transfer the consciousness of the construct who protected the Wulfenbach children into a new body. Zola is determined to kill Agatha once and for all. Meanwhile Mechanicsburg prepares for war.

I will be honest here, this wasn’t my favorite Girl Genius book. The story is a bit all over the place and, while a lot of minor things happen, I didn’t feel like there were any “Wow, OMG!” moments. Also there wasn’t as much silly humor in this book and I missed that.

I am still really enjoying all the mad science and steampunk elements to the story. The illustration is incredibly well done with bright colors, great detail, and it is easy to follow.

I continue to really enjoy this graphic novel. I am getting a bit worried though about how scattered the storyline is getting. Things are getting a bit hard to keep track of and I am starting to forget some of the characters names. The ‘story thus far’ section at the beginning of the book helps a lot. It was would be nice to also have a index of pictures/names/descriptions so I can remember who is who and where they came from.

Overall this was a very well done installment in the Girl Genius series. Agatha makes some good progress in getting Castle Heterodyne running again. There wasn’t as much humor in this book and the story was a bit more scattered. I have really been enjoying the steampunk elements and continue to enjoy the full color illustration.
Adventure! Romance! Mechanical squid! 23 Mar. 2015
By Gearald Becker - Published on Amazon.com

I let myself fall behind a bit, but fortunately Agatha and the Foglios [and of course that chromatic prodigy prof. Wright] have been waiting patiently. [I do hope prof. Wright will be equally patient with his planned mole army invasion...] Somehow they've managed to maintain and even improve the precision craftsmanship & engineering of the runaway madcap juggernaut of SCIENCE! that is Girl Genius. I just hope nothing underworldly overruns the surface world until I've managed to catch up...
